Ron believes, the players believe, so should we.

The George Best of bad misses. He had everything going for him, but hit the bar.

I see no reason at all to doubt that this Saints side can go to White Hart Lane next w/e and win, none at all. It sure aint guaranteed of course, but this side of ours is very good and currently playing with lots of confidence but channeled well by a superb coaching team. Of course we can make it a magnificent 7 - and where better place to do it ! Mr Poch's decision could well come back to haunt him a week today.

Betfair has the implied chances as:

    45% Spurs win
    28% Saints win
    27% draw

So the money says we have between 1/4 and 1/3 chance of winning, but 5/9 chance of getting a point. Probably fair enough.

I'm not sure I think my hope would be pretty much dead if it were 4 - 0 at HT. There'd still be a flicker at 3 - 0.

Good call. I think those are pretty much the numbers that would make sense.

If I were a recent Saints fan I'd be saying, of course we can win. Its my old Saints head that keeps coming back to warn me that its all going to go wrong at some point.

Shame real supporters can't change as easily as Worzel Gumidge. I have patiently kept trying to advise people to ditch their old Saints fan heads. Since July 2009 this has been a new Saints. In over 5 years when has this new Saints seriously let the fans down..? About time we had a change of attitude.

A lot will depend on how strong an XI Poch plays on Thursday night in the Europa League.

Spurs were pretty poor on Sunday's last season after a Europa League game on the Thursday, and already this season their record reads three Thursday Europa League games, two Sunday PL defeats three days later. And both those defeats were at home, and saw Spurs fail to score.

    2 -2 for me.

I've tried to keep as level headed as possible over our recent form, BUT If we come away from White Hart lane with 3 points ...

I'd back us to finish above Spurs in 7th.

We'd be 8 points clear of them going into the international break. And immediately following that break, we host Sunderland whilst Spurs travel to Man City.

An 11 point gap, even at this early stage, isn't easy to close.

The Europa League is a killer. Part of me doesn't want it.

I think any result is possible, not because it is Spurs, but because anything can happen in football. We could easily have lost/drawn against Swansea and QPR...and as easily have won by several goals. It is not important how we do in one game, but what happens by the end of the season. I think over the 38 games we will do very well as we have a great defence and are scoring for fun. This is one I would love to win of course, but don't mind losing and savouring being above Spurs at the end of May. We have come a great way as I only fear Chelsea and City...we can beat anyone else.

Just do what Hull did. Qualify for it. Rest a few players for the qualifiers. Get knocked out in the qualifiers.

In my opinion, had Hull got through, they'd be playing Championship football next season. They got it so right.

The only reason I want it is that it means we are top 6 or cup winners.

Even if you play a second side in the Europa League, you're still going to have a few first team players on the bench so that's a lot of traveling/disruption for our players.
