I'm not so sure anymore as reducing Alex Salmond to AS means you may not respect him as much as I initially thought.
I would prefer Salmond to be first minister then Sturgeon, she makes Salmond look like a bearable choice.

You sound just like Alister Darling. All I can say is that you cannot have seen much of this debate if you think that the SNP did not tell everybody that they would use the pound. With or without a union it would be the pound. They said this over & over & over again.
Why you wish to keep trotting out the establishment line I have no idea. I have already explained, many times, why the EU would have found a way to usher Scotland into the EU without fuss, any other path is just complete chaos.

I find it highly annoying that the YES campaign have totally overlooked the fact that using the pound would mean they can't join the EU as they wouldn't meet the financial criteria for membership.
The EU Finance and Euro guy even came out and said this and it got totally ignored.
So how they can keep going on like the questions over currency and the eu where so obviously answered is beyond me. Since the stance of the YES campaign is impossible under current eu legislation.

I am all for dealing with them strongly, but not by reducing us to their level. Holding the high moral ground (and we don't always) is important. You have to remember that we started most of this by going after the oil in the region. We do have to deal with what we've created though.
They only understand their own level so treat them the same way, they'll understand that.

Not correct, Scotland would not have qualified to use the EURO, the pound is fine . They already meet all the criteria for membership and just bear in mind that Scotland is already in the EU.
There are direct quotes from the person who's job it is to know this stuff saying that Scotland couldn't keep the pound and join the eu.
