    Aye I'd agree here. We're in a minor transitional period at the moment, while we bed the new lads in.

    We've got real class larkers ready to step in. Then we'll see where we are really at.

    Just watched the match and Tom did okay. Livermore was rubbish though.

    1. You mean Livermore's form isn't great currently. Rather than a stupid statement that he is overall cak/****.

    2. How can you single out Livermore over Huddlestone.

    3. We are playing;

    ------------Huddlestone

    ------Livermore------Diame

    When we do should be playing;

    ------------Livermore

    ----Huddlestone------Diame

    and shouldn't be accommodating Quinn because 'he's a grafter'.

    Disagree. I said all last season he was overrated and didnt deserve the clamour for an England place. He was very good about 5 times and those 5 times just got loads of attention.

    Livermore has been much poorer this season IMO. He looks half the player he was early last season, looks completely shot of confidence.

    I think he will take Quinny place, what bit we saw of him at the KC the other evening against West Spam, he is a big step up from Quinn.

    Jake livermore does need to be dropped, the guy lacks confidence and an ambition to grab a goal! Although I felt meyler was rubbish when he came on, diame and ramirez are alot better than huddlestone and livermore! Very Poor players if you ask me!

    Diame has come in and reminded me what a near world class midfielder should be able to do, Hudd and Livermore have ineffective for the whole season. I don't even know what they do, and when we have a game against Newcastle where we didn't get a hold of the ball I really question what they are doing on the pitch... not defending not attacking not holding the ball.

    I like both Huddlestone & Livermore (sure I don't have to justify why), but the simple fact of our squad now is that we have options all over, and if performances drop, then out of the team they go.

    Give it a few more games, if players really aren't pulling their weight, they'll be on the bench. As it goes, I still like both of these and think the criticism is harsh.

    But isn't it exciting to think of the depth of quality just waiting to be unleashed now? Marvellous.

    I agree with you, when new players come in they have to learn to work with each other, SB will sort out a system that suits, just give it a little time. At least we are starting to score goals, so we just need to work on the balance of the team.

    Thudd is doing a good job as a deep defensive midfielder, he is not expected to be an impact player but a consistent and reliable midfield influence and he does that just fine. Take away the mistakes of others and everyone would have been extolling the wonderful team performance, but there were mistakes. weren't there. Livermore was off his game, but I do not accept it has been a common feature of his game this season. Quinn was poor and our two wing-backs struggle to be wingers and full-backs. Steve Bruce has to address what is player performance and what is tactical misuse.

    hes not overrated, it seems looking at this thread he's underrated. he's played well this season, he has been very disciplined in keeping shape, calm and assured when on the ball. Basically he is doing the job he has been asked to do but it seems a few are oblivious to this.

    I'd definitely drop Livermore for the Man City game, but Bruce won't.

    Agreed!

    Bruce should defo drop Livermore, I'd like to see ince in for him, better with the ball! and an attacking threat as well. Livermore is ineffective at the moment!

    unfortunately we massively over-paid for Livermore and unless he improves then we will take a big hit on the book - no drive and no creativity - definately needs a spell on the bench with Ramirez / Ince given the spot

    Quinn has been great so I'm not sure why anyone would drop him before an obviously underperforming Livermore. I think Ince started this season quite well and now we've strengthened I think he'd flourish if given a crack in midfield as an attacking outlet.

    Play your form players though. Everyone will get time over the course of the season.

    As for Hudds, it's difficult to say. He's obviously been instructed to stay deep and out of Diame's way... which is fine as Diame looks like he'll score consistently. But we're conceding goals... which suggests to me Hudds should be dropped for Meyler or we need to take a look at the defensive set up in general.

    I'm not gonna knock our own players - I'll leave that to the moronic poodles - but what I will say is that £3.5 million for Diame looks a great bargain compared to the £8 million we paid for Jake right now!
