Bit late but clicked the wrong button,meant to hit dislike....**** Hull and **** Hull City(afc)....City has always had a spineless,only cheer when we're winning kind of support.Not the core but the peripheral...It's ****ing sad.As an outsider(army kid) I noticed throughout the eighties and nineties how the crowd picked up if we had a run of more than 3 wins....Ooooh!I'm not going to watch a team that gets beaten(heard that a lot)first 1-0 loss and most piss off.**** you and **** your ****ty fair weather fans.I'm done with football and its money oriented bullshit.This certainly isn't a cry for attention it's just a sign of sadness.Sadness that so many of my forbears who survived Ypres and Dunkirk have fathered offspring that will roll over so easily for a silver dollar....**** you,you deserve all the scorn you will get you sad and spineless ****wits.

not just the 80s and 90s - numbers varied much more wildly in the 60s, often by 10 or 15 thousand. once i had my pass nothing could stop me going to all games.
 
It's sad that fans are so divided. We should be united with one another with only the trivial disagreements of line ups etc. All this for the sake of a cantankerous old fart wanting to get his own way. He's the one who has caused his divide and this comical idea needs it's death knell for the good of us all. How long before there is fighting in the stands? Thanks for what you have done Mr Allam, but this one idea really isn't worth it. Back down, calm the waters and let us fully enjoy the football. But that is too much to ask it appears.
 
It's so we can tell clearly that we're watching a football club, not a civic council.

A problem that has plagued teams all over the country for decades up until now.

Finally, someone comes up with a solution.

Club, not the Council.

There'll be scrapping before long. It's bubbling and both sides are entrenched and frustrated.

I'm not sure why they thought booing and hissing was a clever thing to do, it'll just make the songs louder from now on.

A generally provocative act in my opinion, and I fear it will break out into pockets of violence moving forwards.

Let's hope the cameras don't catch it!

The debt is owed to Allamhouse, yes, but just like Bartlett he's running out of cash. Because of his spate with the council the only way he can think of increasing City's income is by changing the name which will bring him in an extra £1 million. As the civil war develops he could lose that and more from people deciding to do something else on a match day.

As this board shows lines are being drawn and positions entrenched. Be careful for what you wish for.

It's a long way to travel for the 'theatre' experience these fans demand at any cost!

According to Ehab there is NO money linked to the name change. Forget this 1 million.
If If If there was a company who wanted to sponsor Hull Tigers but Not Hull City why have they not come out and said so ? they could get loads of free advertising claiming we wanted to sponsor Hull Tigers.
 
Watching the game on telly over here in Oz, I hoped like **** that the booing wasn't what I thought it was - but alas!
Clearly, Allam's latest bout of public madness has frightened enough people into believing he is the club's only hope of a decent future. Let's hope these agent provocateurs (even if they're not smart enough to realise that's what they are), don't manage to create violence that will allow Allam to describe loyal supporters as hooligans.

Surely, the overwhelming feeling here is sadness, even more than anger - no matter what side of this debate you're on - and even those that are supportive or simply ambivalent about the name change, must recognise what a horrible, bitter and divisive old man Assem Allam is.

So you wish a liar to remain in charge of your club do you? He lied about moving to Melton after not getting the KC for free. He lied about the name change last year and he has lied about the loss of a shirt sponser, due to not getting the name change, on Thursday. Nick Thompson resigned as Chief Ex in the New Year, supposedly for family reasons. I personally think he resigned because the Allams hung him out to dry with the fans due to the name change and he told them to stick their job where the sun don't shine. With regards the sponser that we lost, if that was true why did Ehab say there wasn't one in an interview with Burnsy earlier in the year.

Agreed - it did seem to be slowly quietening down, especially with the increased use of "Hull City" on club publicity. Then Thursday happened.

I was amused last night when the wingeing old fart behind me in the south stand joined in with the booing, despite also joining in with many of the"City" chants, end never once mentioning the Tigers. To be fair, I think his opposition was to the "We say 'no' Allam", rather than to CTWD, and maybe this does make the disagreement personal instead of principled? Sad that Allam has supporters at each otherthough.
 
alas it's the continued appropriation of working class culture by the ('silent majority') middle classes - rock n roll, football, fashion even the bloody labour movement ("new labour' my arse)... All gets watered down n then sold back to the masses @ a profit. Lord help the great unwashed if they get above their station & try to retain some power & influence - then the boos start - spoiling our lovely game etc sit down & be quiet you'll frighten the horses. Two blokes in front of me in the east never make a noise of support for their team, not even shout @ the ref (They may murmur now & again) roused from their slumbers only to boo their own. I respect their right to a point of view but that is out of order & deluded too. Shame on them...
 
One issue that seems to recur is people's perception of CTWD.

I would hazard a guess that a great deal of our supporters are not regular users of social media or indeed message boards such as this one.

I would further guess that many use only traditional media such as Radio Humberside and the HDM as their source of news for matters City.

If this is the case it's not hard to see how some could have failed to have seen clearly how CTWD have conducted themselves throughout the campaign and it's undoubtedly true that many do see CTWD as a militant faction (I heard them described as "young hotheads" not so long ago, a description that is blindingly ignorant) because they simply haven't seen CTWD's press releases, website, or statements.

Time, perhaps, to fund a full page advert in the HDM, explaining very politely that CTWD supports Assem Allam in every way but one.

Show them CTWD is not a hooligan minority but a professionally-run and respectful group of fans who simply want to protect the club.

Go to it.
