I'll leave it to the CTWD committee to be diplomatic, but for me, the reason is this:

CTWD have it right. They're trying to save the club from being permanently disfigured in search of short term success.

The other side are trying to appease a selfish, cantankerous old brat who's throwing a wobbly because he can't get his own way.

Everybody's got their opinions sure, but the people booing tonight were wrong. That's the issue.

it's a new chapter in our history.

The saddest thing is the 19:04 chant is often the only bit of atmosphere we create in a home match.

I wonder how many boos there will be next weekend at Newcastle?

That'll show what kind of turds are booing. Not that it needs proving. The only bloke I could visibly see booing was wearing his brand new replica shirt with his own name printed on the back with a number. Make of that what you will.

Yes, that was him. All the booing was coming from one bloke. Well spotted.

Just a couple of points, hoping for a non abusive reply (i wont get my hopes up....)

1) Everyone against the name change - You say there is no proof that changing the name will bring success/extra investment etc etc. However, conversely, where is the proof that it won't bring success/extra revenue?

2) To everyone that is saying 'well hull city afc have just signed abc for £x million and we are doing perfectly well as it is' just think about why we are in the position we are in..... We are in the position we are in because, despite not getting his way and despite saying he is looking to sell the club, Assem Allam still ploughed a lot of his own money in to the club to fund the signings we bought over the summer. If he really wanted to throw his toys out of the pram he could have refused to buy anyone like Randy Lerner did most of the summer. You may not agree with his reasoning and his decision to want to change the name but please, the guy deserves some respect for what he has done for this football club. Some of the abuse he gets on here is disgusting it really is.

I have made my stance clear on here before, i would rather the team was called Hull City, but as Craig in Nottingham has said, i would much rather have Allam in charge than not have him in charge of this club. Unfortunately that means sacrificing the name but if Allam goes and we get a new owner - for every Roman Abramovich, there are at least 10 Massimo Cellino's....

1. Assam and Ehab both say it won't.

2. He hasn't pumped his money in, he's allowed the club to build a debt three times the one we had when he took over.

I wasn't at the game unfortunately, I was working. The boos came through on the radio quite loudly amd were commented on by both burnsy amd swanny.

If I was at the game, o would not have joined in with the booing, just like o don't join in with the 1904 city till we die. However, I can see why people did boo, the 1904 singing was a protest against the name change. That isnt going to happen now. So why keep singing it? Why not sing something else thats not associated with the protest but refrences our history instead? Is it because certain sections of the fanbase want to sticl two fingers up at the guy who's given us more than we ever dreamed? Is it because certain fans desire to get one up on the guy who took a risk with his own money to save the club they claim to love?

The name change ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. Why are you still protesting?

And before everyone tarnishes me with the 'plastic' fan jibe - i have been going since i was 7 years old, i was at Boothferry Park during the great escape season, i was at Bury away on a tuesday night when we lost 1-0.....

It's ****ing ridiculous that how pro or anti Allam you are is being used as a barometer for how "true" a supporter you are.

1. How many shirts do Cardiff City sell in Asia?

2. Assem Allam charges around £2.5m pa on those loans. He claims changing the name would earn £1m over the same period.

He's not giving a gift he's running a business, I've absolutely no issue with that whatsoever, but lending the club money does not give him the right to deface an institution that has been at the heart of this city for 110 years.

Spot on. I'd have taken credit for that of I'd found it!

Don,t agree with the booing, if anything the pro's should start chanting Tigers, and the anti's City Till we die, but as Harry Hill said,....there's only one way to find out.....FIGHT!!!!

I can understand fans who have always sung "City till I die" for years continuing to do so. However, we always used to chant "The Tigers" regularly every game, but that seems to have waned somewhat since the CTWD campaign grew. Deliberate policy, coincindence, or misunderstanding?

no. allam has made our nickname into a tainted word among some people. what a despicable thing that is.

I loved the "where were you when we was ****" chant.

We would still be **** (or playing in the non-league) with grimsby without Allam. Irony eh?

No we wouldn't...

The trouble is CTWD can't see the wood for the trees.

It's simple really:

We want the good times to keep coming - Therefore we know we need to keep Allam - The name issue is irrelevant because even if Allam gets his way it will change back after he's gone - But by that time our future in the Prem could be secure.

CTWD want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs - To stop a temporary name change they want to cut off our source of revenue and send the club spiralling back down the leagues.

Yup Certainly a frustrated Identity/ownership issue.

for some, Heritage and identity isn't tied up in a name.

for other less transigent types it is everything.

Interesting debate though.

FAO DMD.

#2: Debt owed to whom exactly? Is it owed to an external financier as per Pearson and Bartlett or finance based materially on our current owner's wealth?

There is a BIG difference and I find it hard to think you are ignorant enough to conflate an internally financed venture with an externally financed one genuinely.

GET OVER YOURSELF. RUSCADOR WAS 22 YEARS AGO!!!!!.
