I think most transfers these days have personal terms agreed before the actual fee, not saying it's right, but the way it is in the modern game.

As they said, he refused to be drawn on the future...I think he was just palming them off and didn't want to make a quote that could come back and bite him (after all who knows what can happen months down the line...he is the manager, not a member of the board). He didn't say anything of that nature to the video media. The newspapers and internet journalists then get their exclusive go, but not one other journo has picked that up. I think it is pure fiction. If I was Koeman I would bloody annoyed. Of course, it just happens to be a Spurs based publication, so that figures.
Alternatively, there is article after article reporting that Koeman feels that Schneiderlin is the best piece of business Saints did this summer, by keeping hold of him, with not a single sniff of a mention that he might be allowed to leave in January.
