I thought the best part was AA laying into Labour councillors.....With the likes of Geriatric Terry and the dwarf man in charge. It is little wonder that the city is sliding down the toilet.....Credit to you Sir...
Eh? By what measure? Despite crippling cuts from central govt. hitting this city, Hull has not known the likes of the current cultural interest and private economic investment its facing. Give me three facts that back up what you're saying.
I'm no fan of the current council by any means - but the city is going down the toilet? THIS city? http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2014/sep/11/-sp-to-hull-and-back-the-rebirth-of-britains-poorest-city?CMP=twt_gu
1....Supposed redevelopment of new York hotel, despite ring fencing money to get it done.....Bradys comment about 18 months ago...Not mine 2.....The s**t house that is Walton Street car park....Used for one week a year..When the pikey's come and the crime rate soars. 3......Spending a s**t load of money on a feasibility study about opening some kind of ferry terminal...Pie in the effing sky. 4......The s**t hole that is that hotel on the corner of Holderness Road/ Mount Pleasant that was earmarked for redevelopment about 2 years ago by Brady. 5.....Councillor Hale who is more interested in what happens in Gaza then what happens in the streets of his own council ward. There are five for starters.
Sorry mate. That's absolutely no evidence at all of the city sliding down the toilet. What you've written there is called, diplomatically, 'your opinion' with a bit of good old fashioned racism thrown in.
Oh yeah, because nothing has happened in the last 18 months that might have altered plans for the city centre at all.
Look mate..I'll believe it when I see it.....Can't wait for HMS Illustrious to arrive on the Humber....Instead of cleaning up the city and improving the environment they're more interested in big ticket white elephants....Sadly Hull will never be a tourist destination. You don't have to be a genius to work that out....But they seem intent on spending money on **** tourism projects and neglecting the bread and butter stuff....My opinion...If you don't like it.....Tough ****.
Seconded. He has done some great things for us and I'd love him to stay: he just need to let this nonsense stop, as I am sure everyone just wants us to carry on and enjoy the success our current squad could bring. Sadly, the old fool is too stubborn to swallow his pride and move on.
The council have an appalling record historically and the likes of Geraghty are clueless, but now's a funny time to take a pop at them considering we've probably had more good news in the last six months, than we had in the previous six years. As for the things you mentioned, New York Hotel doesn't belong to the council, it's a privately owned building which is unfortunately falling down and the ferry terminal is a brilliant idea.
