I think that unity is strength.. the synergies of unity give greater potential for each party........

I actually further believe that apart from the pride of nationalism.. Scotland will have little to gain from independence..... our national debt is shared and directly linked to our resources and earning power. There is no way Scotland will be able to avoid it's part of this if they go down the independence route.

Some people have alluded to the Scandinavian models as an example as to how things could be.. but clearly high taxation is part of this... and this would mean those Scots who work having to pay more taxes etc etc. This is the view of a Scot who work as a national sales director in a big multi-national. He was at the house of commons last week making a presentation, so is not a lightweight.

If there is a yes vote Scotland will have to pay for it.... and lose any status as a world player...

You are very badly informed and tbh honest I am not going all through this again. You do the research.

The debt has been excepted by the UK as it's debt. I don't think there is ant intention from Scotland not to accept it's share but in law it does not have to.

Scandanavian taxes again.

Scandanavia have high levels of services and they choose that as opposed to our tendency to rely on private companies. It reall y does not matter if you pay high taxes if your take home pay is amongst the highest in the world, and it is. People arguing this are making apolitical arguement not a financial one.

Hopefully if we get a YES vote you will see how wrong you are with regard to Scotland. Many of us don't want to play the big guy around the world btw, the sooner that is over the better.

The vote is divisive and driven by a coterie who wish others to follow them.

Yes. I agree most people prefer just to drink, eat and breed etc that is why they leave politics to those who generally seek power, and privelige over others.....

Some images inserted here of people suffering in the countries I have mentioned above puts all this into stark reality.

I am sorry but I have seen first hand what nationalism can lead to....

Using nationlism as an insult is the usual trick of Tories everywhere, do not compare this the to the BNP or UKIP that is an extreme insult and has no basis in reality.

Sounds like you have your knickers in a twist then ;)

There seems to be little place in this discussion for any consensus or balanced discussion.... cant wait till it is all over!

Consensus and balance?

What is it, Democracy not suit you unless it is on your terms? Balance or do you mean staus quo.

As I said some people just hate there little bubble to be burst.

Inpedendence for Aberdeen? Why should they keep the political elite in Edinburgh in new Palaces and tram systems and Glasgow in Bucky?

Precisely. The Highlands, the Western Isles, Shetland and The North East Of Scotland will be expected to prop up the malingering junkies and alkies in The Central Belt.

The Yes Vote is wallowing in aggressive and violent nationalism you ****in imbecilic ****.

Is Watford the most right wing football club in Britain?

I have never seen so many Tories on a football site.

Is this the influence of that right wing player John Barnes?

We actually have a very broad spread of political opinion on here from Tory to extreme left - but you have managed to unite us - congratulations !

The response is a long time as I have to find english texts for you.

Spurf high taxation on high salaries matter when you pay more for nearly everything anyway. As things are salaries are smaller here than UK when tax has been taken.

This is a good explanation in english of our personal tax system

Also is a good guide to other things

I am sure you can find articles that say London is more expensive than Reykjavík, but London is the most expensive city in Europe. You will not find anything saying Edinburgh is more expensive than Reykjavík.

If you want to know where our government spends our money

When you read it all you will see we benefit in certain places and not in others.

If we go to the doctor we have to pay even if healthcare is paid for by the government.

Private healthcare is nearly not existant, but there is some.

Public transport is poor as we have a lot of cars, we have no railways at all.

I cannot say what happens to Danmörk Norway, Sweden and Finnland as I do not live there and I can only try my best to find good Ísland comparison sites.

I do not think this will last for long Orkneyjar, Hjaltlandseyjar, Katanes, Suðrland, Suðreyjar and the Kingdom of Man will wish to return to Norway.

Don't know what you are talking about. I think and continue to think that nationalism is unhelpful as the unit of social measurement. I cannot see how you make the link between my comment and Toryism...... but that again is an example of their being no middle ground in this discussion... and why I decry two party democracy..

bizarre comment..... again inflammatory on your part.

Exactly... and that is what this sort of logic does.... in the end taking this further. Aberdeen can declare UDI and become one of the richest states in Europe

Thanks for the info geitungur, some of my family have been to Iceland and said it was very expensive. Are you Icelandic and if so how do you end up supporting Watford?

If you are not a Tory is just shows how far to the right England has moved in the last 35 years, because you sound just like a Tory to me. Maybe this is being lost by the method of communictaion that we are using.

The Yes Vote is wallowing in aggressive and violent nationalism you ****in imbecilic ****.

A sentiment and vivid description that, I suggest, many of us here on this board share but are just too polite to say so. The mere fact that smurf has tainted us all with the Tory smear is symptomatic of his imbecility.
