The closing of the “Footballers beg their fellow Scots to vote "no" “thread was, in my opinion, pathetic.

Never mind the discussion of Scottish independence having much broader issues than just the usual political squabbles, the thread had clear linkage to football itself.

I trust then in the future we won’t be able to discuss things like Safe Standing; Hillsborough and perhaps future CTWD growth/activities as these may ultimately have a political context too.

The forum has been completely bunged up lately by multi posters dishing out brainless ****e about done deals; shame as that thread (Scottish Independence) might have actually been interesting.

the politics ban needs explaining , as i asked before if its to stop arguments and bickering
any other thread created turns into a slagging match , even ones about cookery classes in the nude

If you want to discuss politics(or religion), then go to General Chat or CI Plus, we've always had a no politics/religion rule on here, precisely to stop this board turning into a mirror of either of those.

It's a simple rule and one that's served us well for years.

Exactly, if people are arguing over petty things like that then we don't need threads on politics which is an emotive subject and will cause further arguments.

Just like religion, politics should be kept off this board.

Fair enough, but, in my opinion the closed thread had enough of a football link to justify it.

Will all threads with a political context be closed in the future?

Am I correct in my understanding that EU players do not need work permits?

If Scots vote "Yes" and leave the UK, they will not be members of the EU. Initially, even if this changes with time.

If so - what about McGregor? Robertson? Snodgrass? Will City have to obtain work permits for such players?

Sorry if these questions are political.

It wasn't a football thread, it was Scottish independence thread, it had already hit 'they can **** off ASAP' by post four, it was only going to go one way.

All political threads are closed and always have been, unless they directly relate to Hull City(ie those involving Hull City Council) and even then posts are deleted if they move onto party politics.

Religious threads are deleted instantly and without exception.

My opinion it had enough political link to close it but enough football link to stop it being deleted. I found it good to know that info but could see where the thread would go.

I don't expect there will be any work permit issues to worry about.

No. They were all born in the United Kingdom, and they're all British citizens.

TBH the people on our board are pretty much sane ;) and ive no wish to natter with the lunatic fringe that hide in the shadows of GC .

Ive noticed when a thread is accidently put on GC it gets messy very quickly ,

We had a good discussion about the Mayoress and her ticketless day , it was all about politics along with any criticism of the council for their lack of

work on the Euro game , fruit market and lost buildings , these are soft political issues that shouldnt degenerate.

Who defined this interpretation?

What defines a political thread?

Are we ‘allowed’ to discuss Safe Standing or Hillsborough, for instance?

All of it seems heavy handed, petty and boring.

In no time we'd have seen words like ****, *****, ****, *******, and the worst of all *********.
