If this is true, I'd love to end up with a similar situation to Liverpool: with an owner who likes sport and happily invests in teams that can often suck (Boston Red Sox).

I wonder what the chances of such a situation coming to fruition would be.

We could also end up with someone like Cellino.

The name change issue is done and dusted now, unless he reapplies, which at the moment he hasn't so as far as i'm concerned we should start this season with a clean slate. He's backed Brucey better than any chairman has backed a City manager before and should be applauded for that. Maybe its time we all moved on? If he starts being a tw@t then fine we can start defending ourselves and our history again but at the moment he hasn't so we should maybe lay off him a bit. The 1904 CTID chant is great and can be interpreted as a celebration of our history but its time to stop the we say no allam.... etc as at this moment its just irrelevant.

It might be useful if the Allams declared the idea dead in the water? Just an idea.

Anyone that wants the allams to leave can not call themselves a real city fan. Asking fish and lloyd to go is one thing. But the allams...I get what they tried to do and I understand it. It didn't work..move on. If they want to freshen up the brand to try and take us a bit further whats wrong. Its great going on about top ten and new signings etc but without them none of the last 2 years would be possible. We would be championship at best with 15k and Dj Campbell up front and everyone thinking what could have been. Get real.

Oh no...

Or they could just have a differing opinion to you...

(BTW I'm not 100% agreeing with him, but your statement there is just stupid.)

It'd be good but I don't think it's essential.

I agree with SuitedandBooted, the idea is as good as dead. The "we say no" chant and even the badges and scarves seem like flogging a dead horse at this point.

1. He lies to the supporters. Often.
2. He's highly irrational.
3. His disdain for HCC.

Have you set up a fan page for the Hull City council? Why is this dislike of the council a problem? Surely the majority of Hull dislike the council for pot holes, bins not taken, fly tipping and wasting public money.

I will give you three opposing views.

1. The club likely wouldn't exist anymore if it wasn't for him or we could have been a position similar Portsmouth.
2. Under his helm and a lot of his personal money he has taken us from average Championship side with crippling debts to an FA Cup final, the best team we have ever had, European Football, the best Manager we have ever had, impressive signings and by the looks of it the potential to be a Premiership mainstay.
3. He is vastly investing in the future of the club with community projects, developmental players, new training facilities and academy and staff like Laurence Stewart and Tony Pennock.

I think expecting a statement declaring the name change dead in the water, a public declaration if you like, is a bit unrealistic. It seems quite clear - with the sudden re-emergence of the words "Hull City" in our official communications and so on - that for now at least the idea is shelved. Demanding some kind of public climbdown on top of that is unnecessary and inappropriate. Humiliating the man won't benefit any of us.

Just let it drift quietly away, ne'er to be mentioned again...

...hopefully.
