    I agree...note - must stop doing so!!

We are seeing the legacy of Pulis's policy of buying 'experienced pro's' read ageing footballers with virtually no resale value, Crouch, Palacios, and the rest of the £5 million deadbeats. Perhaps we can get shot of some of the payroll during the championship 'loan' period.

Perhaps this is why he 'left' Palace as Parish did not buy into his plan

Having said that, it DID keep us in the Prem, and it has put a few bob in the Coate's pension fund.

Yes I am happy with the squad as it stands...always been a Yarmalenko fan and I think that we should have pushed the boat out for him, rather than a couple of journeyme.

Ah well, all quiet on the transfer front till January.

To be fair nick, didn`t the GREAT Tony Waddington start off buying `experienced pro`s! with no resale value. I personally think Crouch has been a great buy, but you`re right about Palacios, who`s probably been our worst buy!

    Hiya Joe,
Long time no hear...hope all goes well with you.
You are of course quite correct about Waddo...time fades the memory :)

Crouch has been a class act and still gives us something different

His goal against Man City was worth £10 million of anybodies money.

Just think that at the moment we are carrying a lot of deadweight...6 or 7 players perhaps?

I will agree to suspend further debate on our squad until after the Feicester match. Just to say in closing ,

If Hart had stooped down and picked up the ball Diouf had rolled to him , as he could easily have done , would everyone still be raving about our striker , or would they be slating him for a poor finish.

We could not beat a 10 man Hull.

    We were clueless against Villa.

I am not convinced this squad has what it takes , but I will hold my peace until after the next Prem. game.

I am worried by Arnies apparent lack of enthusiasm.

I agree we woeful were against both Hull and Villa, but regardless of whether Diouf scored or not the defensive display was tremendous. the goal was the icing on the cake. Thanks for the welcome back,Nick, and although I haven`t been posting I have been keeping up with all the gossip. Hope you are recovering well from your operation .

against man city we should have scored 3, we battered portsmouth, assaidi is back and diouf is getting into scoring positions, after beating a team 3 nil and beating the champions in their own back yard I think the players deserve more credit, just my opinion, I agree about Arnie though his attitude has to change and his workrate must be upped

keep the faith and up the potters

A lot of foreign players are 'one season wonders'.

I hope Arnie doesn't fall into that category.

It's a busy morning in the Championship, and the latest confirmed deal sees United States winger Brek Shea joining Birmingham City on a three-month loan from Stoke City. The 24-year-old had a spell in the second tier with Barnsley last season.

I kind of want MH to implement Brek into the squad as I like the look of him as he is tall, fast and skillful with the ball. If Assaidi is injured (again) he could fill the space that Assaidi and Etherington will be leaving

Just going back to Joe Hart, he tried and failed to stop Dioufs shot with his feet.

And again against Sweeden hid did the same thing, but saved the shot. Hart does this quite often anyone else notice this? End of, Diorf hit the target and I wonder if he knew Hart would try and block the shot with his legs.

I still say it was,a good finish <ok>

Not the result I expected , I thought the Villa match was a one-off , but no. So I am no longer holding my peace regarding the debate on our squad's shortcomings. I think the Man. City game was a one-off. WE NEED TO CHANGE SOMETHING - QUICK !

Keep smiling Stokies , QPR up next , a certain 3 points for the Potters , that might be the catalyst to change our fortunes.

I agree that we have obvious issues within the team and that has obviously been affected by the lack of spending - a net 1.5 million. The business we have done is good but we haven't off loaded a lot of the old and crap that we needed to before adding more new faces.

I am concerned that Hughes isn't playing his best XI and we saw this in the early parts last season.
