So ends a proper roller coaster of a closed season and transfer window. I think we've come out of our "meltdown"stronger and with more depth than before. Going to bed very happy with the end results, even if it did appear to go to the wire - ignoring Koeman's interview in daylight talking about Alderweireld
Agree with all of this. I never want to see another window like this, ever. But things look a hell of a lot better now than they did 2 months ago.
The thing is though is that Wenger always gets the absolute best from his players, but he won't turn Welbeck into a 20/30 a season striker which is what they needed.
Michael Keane has joined Burnley on loan for the season. I don't get that, Utd now have even less defenders.
I think we're more in profit than that table suggests, seems to to be around £5m out in terms of money spent. EDIT: I Forgot Gardos.
Surprised Sam Gallagher didn't go out on loan, but they may wait until Jay Rod is fit before allowing that to happen.
He's also been struggling with depression since his father's death apparently. Best to keep him in the warm embrace of his club.
Poor bugger. That news just made me want him to do so much better (illogical I know, but there we are).
Well what a window that was. Slightly soured by news Gaston gone but then he had two years to prove his point, and has not delivered. Not always his fault but seems to always pick up little knocks. It is a win win situation as if he delivers, he could come back a different player in summer. He needs games and with Mane coming in, and Jay Rod edging back, Gaston will struggle to hold a starting place IMO. Plus good to get a huge wage off books if not a starter ! Selling Lovren for £20m and replacing with Gardon (£6m) and Alderweireld (potentially £6.30) is a master stroke. And we were crying out for someone with pace, and Mane seems to have that in abundance, great age too. COYR
