Could be a smart investment, clearly ncfc are going for a youth policy taking this with the mcgrandles purchase. Seems like a good move to me and one that will be financially beneficial even if he doesn't make it into the team.
Yeah, I was thinking this might be the route we're taking to make use of the fact we've currently got a bit of cash, to produce some funds in the future. Buy up young talent without too long left on their contract, loan them back out, and if they don't make the grade sell them on for a profit. You only really need one player to really kick on and we've either got a new first team player, or it'll pay off 3 or 4 flops.
Interesting how we've heard nothing else about this Thompson since the BBC announced it as pretty much done first thing this morning. You'd have thought it would have progressed somewhat? Maybe the club are just waiting until 23:05 to suddenly announce a flurry of business...
A million quid for a Scottish youngster I can't think of many Scots worth it when they are developed. There aren't many that make it.
21:19 Norwich have announced the signing of Arsenal defender Ignasi Miguel. A great signing for you guys. We have had him on loan and I personally wish we had bought him. Reads the game well and is good in the air. Good luck for the rest of the season
Good in the air?! Ok. Still, he's a City player now so I wish him the best of luck as with all our signings
I think overall, this has been an extremely positive window for the club. We've brought in some good quality and kept a strong element from our PL years. We've got a really nice blend of youth and experience, pace, strength and technique and great depth to the squad. Credit must go to everyone at the club for giving us a great chance at bouncing straight back up. Over to you Mr Adams...
Just written down the names of all the first team squad available, if fit, for our next match against Cardiff. It totals 30. Good luck getting the team and bench right in the CPL from now on. In my opinion our squad is now stronger than it was after the winter window. Very excited about our new policy of recruiting for the future. OTBC.
Just woken up and expected us to be minus Redders and Hooper, so am pleased that we kept the desperadoes at bay. Squad looks in rude health and hopefully we can shift the dead wood before the loan window closes. OTBC
Think McNally and co have done very well again. After a good start to the campaign and what looks like a successful transfer window surely faith is being restored!
Obviously, I can only speak for myself, but I'm VERY happy with our dealings and we should be able to seriously challenge for the play offs as a minimum.
Totally agree. I think if anything our squad is much stronger now than it was at the start of the transfer window. It seems clear to me that with the players we have we have every chance of getting back to the PL, but I also think we've bought for the longer term as well. Key to our long term future is our youth set up and the ability of whatever manager we have to mix experienced players with younger one's. I think the board recognise this and this is probably the reason why Adams got the job. Now we just need to build on our early results. I'm much happier now with Adams appointment than I was and I think McNally has shown once again what an excellant operator he is.
Mate from work is a season ticket holder at the Emirates and gets to the odd reserves game and he really rates him. This is what he said: "Miguel is class - silky player, a bit lightweight for a CB but he can play. Not quite sure why we've let him go to be honest - only got three cbs now!!!" Probably a lazy comparison for me to make, but I can't help but think of Dani Ayala when I think of this guy. Obviously one for the future, wouldn't be surprised if we loaned him out actually.
