The quality in depth of the squad is just not there to compete for the title. Though even with my low expectation I couldn't have imagined that he'd leave our defense in this shape.

A couple of injuries and the season is over. And injuries are not a matter of if they are a matter of when.
 
Welbeck is more than I was expecting today so that's something I guess..

Being realistic we don't have the squad for a title challenge this season, we're in a four way fight for that 4th place

Am I imagining things when I remember Kalou scoring a decent number of goals?. Where did the jokes about him being awful come from, I honestly don't remember him standing out as particularly bad..

I'm completely mystified what you are doing. After a couple of big signings and a long run at the top last year, I thought you didn't need much to challenge for the title. Granted, City and Chelsea would be favorites, but I thought if you got a couple of defenders, a DM, and a realistic backup to Giroud you'd be in the hunt at least. I guess Welbeck could be seen as the latter, but I've been praying he goes to you and not us, so that's probably not a good sign.

I felt we were in a slightly false position last season, there were so many games where we played poorly and just about did enough to win. We were never going to be able to keep that up forever
