From everything ive seen Short wants to be in keeping with FFP

And Borini's lass works in London so wants a move down there

Hardly Gus/Congerton's fault

it is if we have been waiting all summer instead of sorting out plan B. If nothing else happens we have to drop Fletcher and put Wickham through the middle and pray that the defence is solid because goals will be a problem with the 3 strikers we have.

****, I really hope that the club is working their socks off for a decent striker in these last few hours. Waited far too long with all this Borini crap like, a ****ing swanvesta could strike better than what we have up front.

itd not poyet who gets players in though is it. and even congerton cant force players to sign for us.

It seems to me that Poyet has been the one holding the deal open and constantly talking to the press about how there was something going on behind the scenes and the delay wasn't because Borini didn't want to come,

Looks like Money plus London is all it takes.

6 goals in 4 games isnt exactly a problem like mate

So what I am thinking of?

Eh? Fine clubs for spending more than they earn? Thats as daft as Ecclestone payong his way out of a bribary charge/

I must admit FFP is ridiculous and needs explaining

QPR got fined somewhere in the region of £40-50m i believe just for coming back up to the prem

Think your allowed to spend however much you earn with a £20m injection from the chairman (i think thats how it is)

Hence Madrid/Barca/Utd/Chelsea etc etc can afford the big names as their sponsorships are far higher than that of us

Gary Cotterill is reporting a fee has been agreed between Queens Park Rangers and Liverpool for Italian striker Fabio Borini. Liverpool paid £10.5 million to bring the frontman from Roma and we understand a £10 million deal with add-ons up to £3 million has been agreed to bring Borini to Loftus Road. The player will now begin talks over personal terms.

Never got as far as personal terms with us? Why? If money talks as people say, why wouldn't he even listen? I've got a feeling we never got as far as talking to Borini or his agent. The agent complication theory could have legs?

Could be Saggy chops back to his under the counter agent payments? Lets face it, there's no agent problem 'Arry can't sort out is there?

3 goals in 3 Premiership games mate and not a goal for any striker. Great that the midfield is getting some but long term you need at least 1 striker getting goals...and the best striker is starting on the wing!!

So do QPR generate more money than us? How come our budget seems to be smaller than most other clubs? We get 40k crowds and have the money frm the new tv deal which by all accounts is a massive increase on the last one. Even Everton who normally dont spend a penny spent 28m on a player!! Can someone on here please enlighten me ffs cos i dont get it! I need a drink!

Something stinks alright! And we may never know what the smell is!!! I don't think this has anything to do with London and his lass or even wages etc! I have a funny feeling that this is our problem and we have just not sorted it out! Typical Sunderland making a complete balls up of things I would guess!

I was thinking exactly along these lines. He might have problems reading and writing but he has no trouble counting. It all sounds a bit shady to me.

On Borini:

tbf people should realise:
A. Borini has no real commitment to us, hes not a fan nor is he from around here
B. He's got to think of whats best for his career which at the time was L'pool but then we withdrew, Rodgers said he can go afterwards (for some ****ed up reason) meaning his agent has bricked it, so now he has to do what he can to be playing regularly
C. London is a better place to live the north east, thats obvious
D. He will be on higher wages and will probably start as their main striker

**** me we are going to look small fry if we have been courting him all summer and 1 phone call and skips down to QPR! Agree with others we should of pulled out. We need a striker desperately and I fear it's going to be a Flo moment of madness coming up!

Wasn't gonna drink myself today but started on the cans now. We never know man, might end up being like when Roy Keane seemed to bring in an explosion of signings right at the last minute a few years back. Was like a cheap Xmas cracker going off, all **** inside, but it gives hope that things can be done very quickly if need be.

Gus must have had info that Borini would come to us or he wouldn't have pursued it for so long, so something has gone wrong somewhere.
