Rhodes would be a top, top buy for Hull.

Seems Abel Hernandez didn't fancy it, was supposedly a done deal on Thursday, before their Euro elimination.

Looking at the lack of creativity in the Hull side today I think he'd struggle tbh.

They're very 'long ball' with Huddlestone trying to shore up a dodgy midfield and launching a series of '30 yarders' to Jelavic.

When you watch the lad though, he makes goals happen himself, yesterday was a case in point, chased down a nothing ball and won a pen, that he converted.

He finds opportunities, it could even be that longer balls suit the lad.

I don't think Blackburn will sell, last season of parachute payments they need to get up this season.

Sunderland are working hard on a deal to bring in Manchester City defender Micah Richards on a one-year loan before the end of the transfer window on Monday. According to The Mirror, The Black Cats are serious negotiations to conclude the deal as soon as possible.

The England international had a promising start to his career with Manchester City before losing his place in the squad to more expensive signings. Despite that, he has still made over 170 league appearances for the club and has been capped for his national team 13 times.

It certainly looks like he will be leaving his current side before Monday. He recently turned down a new contract, that would have seen a big drop in his wages, but buyers have been put off by his £8 million asking price.

Sunderland had previously looked towards bringing in Rolando from Porto before deadline day tomorrow but The Daily Mail reports that a deal for the defender has stalled, leading to Gus Poyet having to look at other options.

Micah Richards would have the added benefit of being able to play at both right back and centre back, providing plenty of cover in defence – an area that Sunderland are desperate to strengthen following a number of departures during the summer.

Sunderland have been given plenty of hope in their pursuit of the 26-year-old as he is now even further down the pecking order after Manchester City brought Bacary Sagna to The Etihad. With Pablo Zabaleta also preferred to him, Richards will have to move on from the club to ensure regular first team football.

A loan deal to Sunderland could provide the experienced defender with plenty fo playing opportunities as both John O’Shea and Wes Brown are nearing the end of their careers and will be unlikely to play every game of the season. Gus Poyet has also been public about his desire to bring in additional defenders to boost his options.

Sounds like he won't move permanently till his contract is up. May be a case of nobody will match his wages. I'd have him on loan knowing that Citih will be paying a % of his wages while here.

I'd have him straight in at right back. What a difference a powerful attacking full back could make. Awesome at set pieces too, we might even score from a corner!

Long term he would be a CB, which suits us as our top two don't have many years left.

Option to buy would make this an amazing coup for us

We don't need an option to buy fella, he's free at the end of the season. We'd just offer a pre contract in January. Problem is, any other club can offer him terms in jan too. Get the feeling he'll be following the money when that time comes.

Yeah the scenario we can all foresee is he plays well and alerts top clubs. Obviously he won't play for England though while he's our player, so maybe he can stay under the radar!

I'd put him straight in at CB instead of O'Shea.

That's only non-domestic players mate, English teams are only to able terms a month or two prior to the contract expiring. I fancy he'll pop abroad.

If we were to get this lad on loan instead of pay the pittance City would need to sell him I'll be disappointed.

I can't agree with the O'Shea bashers at the minute. He has had bad times but he's playing well at the moment and finished last season well.

Have to agree, long been his biggest critic, or one of, but he's been superb for 12-15 games, and captains the team very well, always with the referee when a decision is being made.

Facts are though, his lack of pace and mobility, over the season, will cost us points, even if he's playing well, it's time for us to improve, and sentiment doesn't have a place in it.

Where has this been quoted mate?

Seems high considering they're seemingly willing to let him go on loan and lose him for nowt.
