    So:

Balo looks lively, fitting in, holding the ball up and linking well with the others. Goal coming if he keeps this up.

Sturridge and sterling have been freed up with him on and getting joy.

Hendo looks back to his bristling self.

    Allen busy if uninspiring

CB's and Gerrard appear to be having a competition to see who can give the ball away the most. I'll forgive the communication probs between the three as its yet again a new set up but that shouldn't effect their bloody passing.

And if Gerrard can't pass even a short ball to our players, his last reason for being picked today is gone.

The Full backs look good, pacey, supporting attacks, getting back to defend.

Migs did well with the shot but needs to command his box more.

Still not clicking like last year though, where I think we would have got at least 2 in that half. TGf spurs should have scored there only real chance too, but makes for an interesting 2nd half.

We've looked sharp and bright in attack. Balotelli having a good game and making a difference. Look in control unless we make a mistake. Spurs are all huff and puff with little truly to offer so far.

He's been what we hoped he would be today.

Stay as composed and hard working all season and he will be a good signing.

Gerrard is well off the pace alright and sahko is gash but the positives are lovern and two full backs, Henderson and sterling and badontelly is working well

We've only the one passenger today it seems, Gerrard should be told to stand in centre circle, make it 3 at the back and let full backs go on more

I'd like to see can after 65 mins today I really would

    Badontelly missed 4

First ok was a good save
    Second poor miss
    Third howler
Fourth was bouncing and very hard

Suarez always missed a lot of chances.

Would work even better with Lallana instead of Coutinho if he was available.

This. Really the main problems this half have been caused by defensive players being sloppy in possession.

Gerrards performance today is a bit of a worry, he can't even make a 5 yd pass and has given it away a lot with his "hollywood" passes. Rest doing OK, but Sakho seems to be a bit panicky on the ball and needs to much time to decide what to do with it

You must missed the finger tip save by Mignolet when Chadli should have buried it

My concern with Can is that I'm not sure his passing would be any better than Gerrard's.

No, didn't he say one shot in target? That was it. And it wasn't finger tips! He shot straight at Migs lol

Not convinced that Balotelli's had a great game tbh, but he's been alright and shown promise. He's worked hard and pressed, which I didn't see in his character so happy with that, but his passing has been very hit and miss and his shooting/composure pretty awful so far. He's shown he can hold the ball up though and can interchange with Sturridge in that regards. That said, he's lacking match fitness and sharpness so hopefully he'll improve in the next few weeks as he looks off the pace right now. Promising though.

Hendo is the natural vice captain here. Every time the camera switches to him he's gearing up the other player and encouraging them.

Gerrard's having a shocker. Would like to see Can on for him tbh, but I think we all know that'll never happen.

Need a goal early next half as I expect Spurs to have a real good go at some point.

Not everything clicking but they need game time for that.

This is an important game for us to win. Come on you Reds!

What did you get from the fridge that is more important than waiting for half time?

I'm hoping that by the end of 90 mins I'll be feeling very relieved that we've got the fitness to do the job

I am still worried right now we will fade out of this and we will be looking at backs to the wall stuff

I'm hoping can and markovic and lallana all come on but fancy lambert will come on for badontelly just to protect him which is ok too
