Spoke to a few Citeh supporting pals after that game and they all said that we could have won it - or that it would have been very tight - if we'd just scored in the spell we had during the first half, it was the lack of a goal there and then the mistake that ended our chances. They were impressed by us and felt we were a proposition to play. Our players went missing and heads dropped after Citeh's first. That's what we need to work on, being clinical and taking chances when we're on the up, then staying focused and positive (especially and even moreso when things aren't going our way).
I expect this team to play -----------------Mignolet Manquillo----Skrtel----Lovren---Moreno -------------------Gerrard --------Henderson-----Allen -------------------Sterling --------Balotelli-----------Sturridge Should be a easy win for LFC. Will be a bit like Chelsea- Everton game. Away team to win.
I wouldn't expect to see Balotelli start, but he'll almost certainly come on as a sub. Hopefully our defense will be alright without Johnson, he's a big miss...
We should beat the spuds. Prediction 2-1 Not only for the points but also for what it means . I think Brendan knows the significance of today's match. Win and we keep in touch with top 4 ( yes before anyone reminds me it is only match 3). Lose we lose touch. And history suggests that it is not so difficult for us to be out of any challenge by Xmas (title or top4) by having a poor start. And we don't want the media (I know we should ignore them) ammunition who will say we are on the slide because we thrashed them 5-0 last year.
Going to be a tough game imo, I hope that Balo is on the bench and that when he comes on he is of some kind of use as a footballer and not the useless idiot he has been in th past.
i have fingers and toes crossed. nothing to do with spurs and all to do with only hoping our midfield will fix its issues. the winning and losing of this game is in midfield and the press. if we can't show the intensity levels we are in trouble
Looking forward to this game, but I might miss bits of it as I'm at a Darts match. I'd expect a draw, but could see either team winning. We should have the edge as we have the better team, but, as Stoke showed yesterday, anything can happen in the PL.
This is not a crunch game. Neither was the City game a crunch game. Both are far too early in the season to be classified as anything like 'crunch'. It can be indicative as to individuals within the team and tactics that are being employed but win lose or draw today it will not be season defining.
its a potential crisis if we lose and look like we dominated for first 30 then fell back on ourselves and fade due to total lack of stamina.... 3 games = trend
