The Telegraph are claiming that Villa have had an £8m bid accepted for Cleverly from Man Utd. Probably about his level, but they're leaving it rather late to sort out a replacement as well as the other players that they need. Good.
Just had an email from Ticketmaster and it includes the usual round of offers for games that I've got absolutely no interest in. One that stood out was Saudi Arabia v Australia on September 8th. At Craven Cottage, obviously.
Legia are obviously still a little upset that Celtic were put through instead of them: We're in Pot 1, Celtic are in Pot 2, Legia are in Pot 3...
A move that guarantees he'll suddenly be deemed not good enough for England, even though he was deemed good enough for them three months ago.
Bit disappointed in and for Hull last night. There's no way that Lokeren should've beaten them over the two legs yet I noticed Bruce played a somewhat second string side in both games. Now I personally think that's a poor decision, this is their first time in Europe and it seems Bruce decided to not take it seriously, I think that's pretty poor from him. Huddlestone, Ince and Jelavic started on the bench for both legs, where as Jake was on the bench for the first along with a few other rotations. I can appreciate that the Europa League hangover can affect clubs in their domestic leagues and perhaps Bruce felt that the side he fielded was good enough to win but have a bit of respect, even if not for the competition but for your own fans, whom I'm sure were hoping and looking forward to a good debut campaign in the comp. I remember when we got back into Europe and it was amazing down the Lane, I'd have been devastated if Jol had chosen to not take it seriously and we'd have crashed out at our first hurdle. I know these days we too tend to field a "B team" in the early stages but with the utmost respect to other clubs in the competition, we can afford to do that due to the amount of quality in depth we have, 8 of our starting XI last night have featured for their country so it was by no means a regular "B side" anyway. I'm gutted for Tom, Jake and Daws and for the club in general who I've gained a lot of respect for.
Indeed, which is the very reason why Roy has to be sacked. He's completely clueless. He picks players off the back of whether or not they play for (in order) 'Pool, United, Chavs, Arsenal, Spurs, other (if all the places haven't been filled). Anyone of us could do that.
He's not the first England manager to do so, and he won't be the last. After all, Wes Brown was an England regular when he was at Man Utd - but the second he left for Sunderland, he never got called up again.
They're virtually all **** though, barring Delph. That's not far off being a summary of their whole squad, though. Too much dross and a negative, boring manager.
Utd are buying Cleverly?! Is it Nathan Cleverly, the boxer? He's equally mediocre. They're **** at the moment too, if that helps!
