There is the difference. We missed good chances. Ipswich did not have any good chances. Actually, at no time watching the game, obviously on t.v. given my location, was I as nervous about the outcome as I had been just one day prior.I wasn't feeling that comfortable watching it (the second Half) When you miss so many good chances I always get a bad feeling we'll get punished for it, luckily that didn't happen.
Don't know if that was aimed at me SN23, but I'm definitely not criticising him, he's been brilliant so far and you really can't argue with 4 goals in 4 games. It could so easily have been 7 or 8 though, just needs to sharpen up when he has time to think about the finish. His instinctive reactions in and around the box are great!
i presume this is a joke (not a very funny one admittedly...)
city filled their entire allocation. granted i only saw it on the box but the whole atmosphere from start to finish sounded flat as a pancake. i think they even commented on how poor it was during the summary. all you could see was empty blue seats in home areas (25k is not great considering city got more than that against blackburn who brought two men and a dog on a tuesday night in a smaller ground) while the only noise heard on tv was from the away section and even that was sporadic. not sure whether it was down to quality of game or what but every time i've been to ipswich the atmosphere from the home fans is poor unless they are winning. you have too many fairweather supporters - it just doesn't matter enough to them.
again bollocks! i could not get a ticket, they were sold out! and all you could hear on t.v were the city fans. noticed plenty of empty seats in your ranks(just not as many as normal)Just one other thing of note today was your poor support! We didn't hear you until you scored and for about 10 minutes after that it was pathetic! So much for this wonderful vociferous support I keep hearing about! Shame you couldn't even fill your allocation!
The scum fans were atrocious, it was a really poor advert for a local derby, you could of heard a pin drop at times.
I'm not prepared to be all superior after a 1-0 win. Yes, we wasted a lot of good chances, but to say that Ipswich had none is just blindness. The free kick when McGoldrick nearly scored was very clever. Had he been match fit, we might well have rued the chances missed. Murphy also had a good chance with his header, but he didn't make it. That's football.
if you miss a lot of chances you will get criticised even if you net regularly - andy cole used to get this and he was a great player. i don't think he's a great striker (rough around the edges is a good assessment) but at this level should score 20+, especially given how many chances we create at the moment. i don't think he'd stand a chance in the premier league.
I think Lafferty just needs to get his first goal and he'll be fine. I don't think he had a very good game yesterday and some of his tackles were quite vicious.

Adams won against 10 men, a dubious penalty, scraped home against a bottom 8 team. We could be doing much better had we appointed Lennon.
one thing i will add about it 'being comfortable' was that maybe its a different feeling watching on tv to when you are at the game - you don't get quite as involved in every kick and every header. i was honestly very laid back yesterday about how the game was panning out with the only time i got worried being murphy's header (i thought it was in) - perhaps had i been at the match i would have felt more tense. who knows...
