First time I could watch this season in terms of getting a stream.

I felt Tettey was very good. I just hope he can stay fit and keep his form because if he does he is immense for this league. Hoolahoops back to his best, too. Garrido did not shame himself despite all the negative stuff there's been on boards about him recently. Turner looked strong as always.

A little worried about the chances the forwards missed. This was my first chance to see Lafferty, you guys had given him some rave reports, so I was rather disappointed with him.

A fabulous week and a decent start to the season. I'd feared we'd get the start that Fulham have had, but we've done well. So far so good for NA.

There is the difference. We missed good chances. Ipswich did not have any good chances. Actually, at no time watching the game, obviously on t.v. given my location, was I as nervous about the outcome as I had been just one day prior.

one thing i will add about it 'being comfortable' was that maybe its a different feeling watching on tv to when you are at the game - you don't get quite as involved in every kick and every header. i was honestly very laid back yesterday about how the game was panning out with the only time i got worried being murphy's header (i thought it was in) - perhaps had i been at the match i would have felt more tense. who knows...

I definitely felt pretty relaxed. After Grabban missed his 3rd golden opportunity I was a tad worried but Ippy never looked like they could put together more than a few passes, and on the one occasion they did Murphy missed his header.

I think the majority of Ippy's possession was the ball being in the air as the Keeper or CB lumped it forward.

The Grabban chip effort was quite difficult to be honest and had it gone in a classic goal the one on one he was running so fast that his first touch let him down, he also hustled in to get a swerving volley off that Gherkin parried away.
I find it amazing that people keep criticizing him the guy is awesome and will bag more goals for us than Holt at this rate.
Also people should remember how old Redmond is still the guy beats his man all day but is still quite skinny and doesn't have the strength to hold off defenders but one day he will be a full England international and i hope it is with us.

Don't know if that was aimed at me SN23, but I'm definitely not criticising him, he's been brilliant so far and you really can't argue with 4 goals in 4 games. It could so easily have been 7 or 8 though, just needs to sharpen up when he has time to think about the finish. His instinctive reactions in and around the box are great!

Not you mate there were several posts during the game yesterday criticizing the finishing but for £3m that is what you pay for , a bit rough around the edges still.

if you miss a lot of chances you will get criticised even if you net regularly - andy cole used to get this and he was a great player. i don't think he's a great striker (rough around the edges is a good assessment) but at this level should score 20+, especially given how many chances we create at the moment. i don't think he'd stand a chance in the premier league.

Very true. It's so refreshing seeing a quick striker in our team and chances being created faster than our forwards can take them! If we can keep opening teams up the way we have been in the opening games, and start putting away a few more, we'll be looking at a record breaking rather than just a promotion season.

The scum fans were atrocious, it was a really poor advert for a local derby, you could of heard a pin drop at times.

I'm not prepared to be all superior after a 1-0 win. Yes, we wasted a lot of good chances, but to say that Ipswich had none is just blindness. The free kick when McGoldrick nearly scored was very clever. Had he been match fit, we might well have rued the chances missed. Murphy also had a good chance with his header, but he didn't make it. That's football.

I'm with you Rick last season our goal could have easily been chalked off and it's a 0-0 .
The binners beat Fulham got a decent drawer on Tuesday and now they consider themselves the worst ever side to wear their colors.

Quote - 'to have more successes, you have to have more failures'. I'm sure Grabban will have learnt from his mistakes yesterday and I'll be surprised if he doesn't get more than 20 goals for us - assuming he stays fit.

I think Lafferty just needs to get his first goal and he'll be fine. I don't think he had a very good game yesterday and some of his tackles were quite vicious.

Agreed he looked a little over-excited to me and he had overall a poor game. However, I am very impressed with his hold-up play and touch, for a big man, in general. He's astonishingly good on the ball. His work rate is fantastic too.

It's an unusual tactic, but having an outlet target man on the wing is a fantastic way of relieving pressure for the team and yet keeping the ball, and allowing the possession to move into the middle to get us passing rather than pure hoofball to Lafferty in the middle to just lay it off. It's part of the reason why I don't quite get the calls to bring Lafferty into the middle and stick Grabban, who has a much worse touch and passing ability, out wide. Lafferty is also better at getting into the box from the wing than Redmond.

Some people are never satisfied - plus there's no guarantee he'd be correct.

Not in my case, Superman. My wife was laughing at my nervous contortions, air-heading & air-passing. We played OK but we're still making the same frustrating mistakes as last season - losing the ball in bad areas & imprecise passing, it's just that the Championship is a bit more forgiving.
