Magic. Though he was already a bit of a bellend by then. The magic of 90 is what stays with me.

i honestly believe i'd do gazza the world of good..
I think Gazza should be put in a secure unit away from all harmful substances and be found ways of improving his life.
How weird is this thread!?
Alan McGregor slags off Gazza to which most kick off.
Alan McGregor reacts and in a sense 'does a Gazza' to which many kick off.
How could he win in this situation?
And to suggest banning him WOULDN'T be stopping him expressing himself is ****ing laughable.
The poor guy has really improved recently and offers more to the forum now. I can see a witchhunt coming on here.
He's ill.
"You wouldn't ask why someone got cancer or diabetes or asthma like it was their fault. You wouldn't say: 'What have you got to get cancerous about?' Those 'nothing to get depressed about' people don't understand that it's an illness. Some people get mentally ill and some don't - just as with a physical illness. If you're coughing up blood, break your leg or have a raging temperature, it is obvious what you have to do. But if you suddenly have these overwhelming feelings of nothingness, deadness and sadness, who do you speak to?"
Steven Fry. recently.
Some of the comments on this thread regarding depression and alcoholism are f**king pig-ignorant. I wonder what their view would be if they suffered from these mental diseases. Telling an alcoholic or a depressed person to stop drinking or to stop being depressed is like telling a gay person to stop being gay. Have a f**king word with yourselves.
Interesting take. Does his illness make him beat up women or is it just down to him being a complete ****? If a 'nobody' was in this state and had done the things he'd done he'd get no sympathy. Why does the fact he was good at kicking a football afford him that?
When you pass your average smackhead begging on the street is your first thought about their illness? Interesting the way an alcoholic is viewed much more sympathetically than someone who sticks needles in their arm.

They deserve help and patience and as much care (if not more) than any physical illness. The mind is a fragile thing. If Gazza wants help he will get it. Ultimately only he knows when he's ready to stop drinking.
And some people don't survive cancer, but it's NEVER their fault. If he can't be saved then it's the people 'treating' him that have failed, not him.
Idealistic claptrap.
he is, i'm not sure i can feel sorry for him..
Of course, I've been brainwashed by the newspapers. Can I borrow your tin foil hat, enlightened one?

A fair number of the posters clearly have no compassion for their fellow man at all./QUOTE]
You've only just noticed this? I'd like to find a City board I want to contribute to, but the level of misogyny/misanthropy on here is sickening.
