it will take a while for us to gain the recognition we deserve.
I wonder how long it took for Man U to go from their opponents losing to them winning.
Manchester went from a grim Northern town to a respectable shout for Englands second city.

I reckon that our coming runners up in FA Cup made the World sit up and take notice.
It must really grate the southerners that the north is starting to get a foothold in the BPL.
If it wasn't for European money, Newcastle would be in the same state as Middlesborough (as in depressed and dead)

Man Utd have been one of the media darlings since the end of WW2. The only thing that matched them was the BBC's drooling over the Tottenham side of the early 60's.
The bit about Northern clubs getting a foothold in the BPL is one of the funniest things ever on here.

As much as I hate the way City never win a game, the opposition always lose it.

But what is worse the condescending fake praise we get at times.

Wait until Big Sam is replaced for the media love-in with West Ham to restart. The problem with the media and the Beeb in particular is the history thing - therefore Leeds and Forest are considered "box office" and clubs like us and Wigan aren't (how much media attention would Leeds have got if they had been in Wigan's position when they had their FA cup final win, or us last season).

It will be interesting to see how Hull is portrayed in the months beforehand and during the CoC - and whether that will change the perception of the city by those who work in the media (Kirsty and Phil excluded)

I doubt they'll be too surprised, northern clubs have won the Premier League 16 times out of the 22 years it's existed. <doh>

read what I said...................... I said it must grate, I never said anything about them being surprised. <doh>
I will put it simpler for the obvious simpletons like OLM, It must piss them off that a North of Watford Gap town is starting to gain ground at the expense of towns like Derby.

i'm pretty sure derby is north of the watford gap

instead of just criticising me, for criticisings sake, why don't you actually read what I say?
I know OLM is a simpleton, but please people, make up your own minds instead of following him.

****S SAKE!
READ what I said!!

I said it must piss them off that a Northern team are doing good at the expense of a team like Derby!

I know Scotland is a third world country, but I thought you'd be able to read.

*shakes head*

I never said that we we're the ONLY northern team to do it........

engage your brains people.
PLEASE!

PattyNchips2 is either an intellectual comic genius with a strong sense of irony or the complete opposite.............

I reckon that we need to win some silverware in order for our club to be taken seriously.
