I don't think we're ever going to see Morgan in a Saints shirt again, so I do think there's a case for keeping hold of Cork. But, he's been spectacular for us and obviously he wants to be playing first team football - Palace have found a gem at that price if it all goes ahead.
Another atrocious move if true. 3 million?! Morgan is angry, Taider is unproven. Cork is one of the most consistent and reliable players we've got. Excellent squad player. For 3 million, what's the f**king point?! Absolutely don't need the money, we need the players. Selling Cork and keeping Ramirez, the vast majority of you think we're a top four club!! Wake the f*ck up! This season is a relegation fight season, and we will need the likes of Cork more than most others. F*ck this ridiculous football club.
Do they though? I raised this issue when the other players were leaving, and was told by multiple people that it'd be a bit more believable if it wasn't only top players moving to better teams for Champions League football and more money, and if any of our players were actually wanting to leave to an equal or lesser team my claims might have some weight. Well now that's happening. Cork might just have been unhappy at not being offered a new deal, but as MLiR says he played plenty last season, so if he just wanted a new contract here then surely the right thing to do would be to carry on playing well and earn one.
Hang on a minute.....he hasn't gone yet!! How come you suddenly believe what papers say! While I too have my doubts about Kruger there is nothing I can think of he has said he has gone back on.
Victor made 24 appearances last season(4 as sub) & we got 12 clean sheets conceding 17 goals in total Jack made 26 appearances last season(7 as sub) & we got 14 clean sheets conceding 38 goals in total Dejan made 33 appearances last season (2 as sub) & we got 12 clean sheets conceding 36 goals in total It would be a lot of extra effort to work out combinations etc, but goals conceded is surely the most telling stat
Its incredible how Cork seems to divide opinion. I've always thought it is because he is a little un-gamely when he runs. He never quite seems to be in control of the ball and yet he somehow manages to find a pass.
As mentioned before if Cork goes I would see that as a positive with regards to MS. If he sorts his head out and gives 100% to Saints we all know he is our best midfielder by a country mile and will play every game possible. The board's mistake in this situation is that they didn't try and sort a contract out with Cork a lot earlier, but if he want's to be a regular starter he wouldn't of signed a new deal regardless of when we offered it to him. Can see both sides of the argument to be honest. I don't want Cork to leave but struggling to think of a reason for him to want to stay...
If this happens, or if Morgan refuses to play or anything like that, then I'll change my mind and I'll be upset about Cork being allowed to go. It would be really stupid of the board to let him go if they aren't confident of Morgan's return.
So what?! Why do we need to compare them again? So he's not as good as Wanyama, they are excellent together.
Ha, ha, ha. Wanyama is a poor footballer; his reading of the game is poor, his decision making is poor, his technical ability is poor. He gets in the way of things and is very useful in shielding the CD's and I would have him in my team for that alone. But he is NOT a good footballer.
Pochettino and Koeman disagree. As do most Premier league teams if nobody is going to one up a 3m bid for Cork. Not that I'm interested in this discussion with you because your Cork bias is probably the strangest thing on this forum.
How do we not know Koeman has said you will only be back up this season? Look at the friendlies he has hardly played. DTLW said we had been discussing a new contract with him as well. You seem to have a go at the board over everything, yet when people question Cortese you don't like it. How about Morgan claiming he was told he could leave by Cortese at the end of the season? Or don't you believe it?
Wanyama is better than Cork. Cork does a steady, unspectacular job but Wanyama is absolutely solid. We need Wanyama in the team. But what if Wanyama gets injured again? Who plays in front of the defence? We have no one of PL quality to slot in there, apart from Cork.
