- We don't know for certain - 3 million is because he is a midfielder who doesn't really create or score, who is in the last year of his contract in a position where we have several other players - Our kids are supposed to be quite good and have started ahead of cork in preseason. Wanyama was one of the key reasons for our solid defence last year - No he couldn't really effectively fill in at premier league level. I seem to remember ward prowse dropping back more often last year if forced - Are there such thing as crazy pills?
So can Gardos...but if he played there for a few games...we definitely need another good CB this window!
Yep maybe you are right. I suppose I just assumed they meant any first teamers. Maybe thats the answer, Ron doesnt see him as a main man.
As far as I remember (it wasn't that long ago!) last season that position was shared between Cork and Wanyama. We had many heated discussions on this board who the better player was, and the general consensus was that they are both effective in their own ways! To me this means Cork is equal Wanyama's value. On this very board Cork was voted as MOTM for several games, including the home draw vs Man City. I remember being him instrumental. Of course this is all just my opinion, I'm just finding this very hard to take if turns out to be true. If it is then who's next? Rodriguez? Clyne?
Really? You want to have that discussion? Kind of irrelevant. Might as well say "You remember what our defence was like before we signed Lovren?".
We may not let Morgan, but is he going to be professional and give his all. I think Jack is a good player and certainly one we should hang on to
I looked it up he made 25 Premier League appearances last season, as well as cup games. Not a fringe player by any means.
Cork is a neat player but nothing else. To me a CM player has got to weigh in with a minimum five goals a season and if my memory serves me correct, he's never scored in PL.
Cork's a really good player, but I can see why he's being let go. We have no one else like Wanyama to play the DM position, and he's competing with Schneiderlin and Taider for the deep-lying playmaker sort of role at CM. The other CM position will be for the more attacking players, such as Davis, JWP and Reed.
In what way? Selling players that didn't want to be here and either acted a dick to get a move or had a clause in their contract? Or signing one cm on loan?
React, yes. Over-react, no. Compare Cork to either Wanyama or Schneiderlin last year and he was consistently better than both. Just watch Wanyama this season and see how often he gets into positions to receive the ball. It will hardly happen! Cork was always available and rarely gave the ball away. Yes, Wanyama is probably better sitting in front of the defence. Yes, Schneiderlin is better getting into threatening positions. But as a single package I would take Cork over either of them especially given Morgan's attitude at the moment.
