We've got to look at it this way, what can we get for £12m that's an improvement on Long?
If that money can buy us a better player, why aren't southampton signing them instead?
Now confirmed, we've accepted a bid of £12.5m...

You can't really complain about a £5m profit in seven months, he's never worth £12.5m, all we need to do now is replace him.![]()
£12 million for a player who is unsettled in the north is excellent. Is the 15% sell-on fee to West Brom correct?
Agreed, he was never worth 7.5 million..
Doubt it very much. I looked round most of their forums last night, only one poster on one forum thought there was a sell on clause, the rest think otherwise. Sell on clauses are usually stuck in on youngsters or players allowed to leave for a small fee, we paid top whack for Long, agreeing to a sell on clause would have been mental.
Remy has a cheap release clause for top 4 clubs i.e Liverpool. He would be much more expensive to us and would then require massive wages. Remy's a no go.He nearly went for 8 million, why not throw a bid at QPR and see what happens? Newcastle aren't much better than us and he played for them all last season.
If someone cam in with a £20m-£25m offer for Hudd, I'd sell him. I think that's double what he is worth to us, as I think £12m is more than double what Long is worth.I'm amazed how happy everyone is about losing our main forward.
Let's hope we can get some good profit on Huddlestone?
