Yet you are the same hypocrites that would make comments such as "and the journey to another trophy drought commences, they lost to a man city's reserves etc" had Arsenal lost. For once keep rivalry aside and appreciate football. DON'T BE BITTER. This "friendly" trophy is the same amount as spurs have won in the last decade.

I wouldn't read too much into that game. Yes, City did have a lot of their normal first choice players missing - especially in the first half. They also played like they couldn't give a toss for the first 45 mins.

Pelligrini looked less than amused and they put on a better show after half time. I also thought their second choice keeper was woeful.

Are you seriously comparing any trophy with the charity/community shield?
By the way this "friendly" trophy is the same amount as arsenal have won in the last decade

Actually in the last decade arsenal have won two fa cups and two community shields :)

Add an extra few months onto the decade for a league title too ;)

Arsenal's result today was no more significant than Liverpool beating City in America recently or Dundee beating them before that.
They're friendlies. Results are meaningless. Had the score been reversed, then I'm sure that their fans would agree.
We beat Schalke, Liverpool battered Dortmund, Man Utd beat Real Madrid and Liverpool. All irrelevant to the season.

Feel free to be happy at the performance and take something from it, but predicting anything from the results of pre-season games is pointless.
We've all seen fans get carried away about them in the past, both positively and negatively, and they rarely indicate anything substantial.
Huddersfield Town's friendlies saw them win 8 (including a 3-1 win against our Europa League opponents! <laugh> ), draw 1 and lose two. Mark Robins still doesn't have a job today.

Caballero, Kolarov, Boyata, Nastisic, Fernando, and a bench featuring the likes of Sinclair, Milner, Rekik and Zuculini.

Are you really trying to claim that was a first choice City team they put out? If so, you should probably change your affiliation to Liverpool - they wear red and their fans are deluded, so you'll fit right in.

No, actually, we would have merely laughed at you for losing to City's reserves who treated the match as a glorified training session.

The fact there wasn't even a Community Shield thread on the City board, while on yours there's a nine-page thread devoted to it plus threads about "winning trophies" and a "winning mentality" (the latter started by some halfwit that thinks Boyata, Kolarov and Nastasic are first team regulars)

Hi pop pickers back from 3 weeks of relaxation , I hope you are all fine and dandy.

To be fair , Arsenal look pretty good and an outside chance of the league . Instead of treading water they
have moved on these last 2 years. I am a little envious of the quality players they are signing .
We just have to take it on the chin.
At the same time they do have the most insipid , effete , souless, nerdy bunch of fans in the country.

    Lots of love
    Sid

glad to see some people are not blind.

    friendly ?

There was nothing friendly about this game .

    And " reserves "

How many of those reserve players would walk into your first team ?

Yeah im sure you would turn down Toure and Dzeko , , Navas , Jovetic..

If Man U and Liverpool are that good, it would mean one of City, Chelsea or Arsenal (who certainly looked good today) missing a CL spot. Put another way, at least one set of fans will end up disappointed, and, if the team missing a place is City, Chelsea or Arsenal, shocked. It's also not written in stone that four of the five will fill the spots.

You read into it what you will. To be fair, you can only try to beat what's put in front of you. Nevertheless, do I think today's game is any indicator of how the next season will go for both you, and City? No, I don't.

I read into it further confirmation that Arsenal are better with Cazorla and without Ozil. Dump Wilshere as well, and get Wenger to make a statement saying there will be no more whining, overcoming adversity is what wins titles, and you'll walk the league.

Seems little enough danger of that, though...

Arsenal players spend more time rolling around on the ground and squealing at the ref, IMO, than any other English team, and it always seems like a trait of those who don't get going when the going gets tough.

  14. I love the fact that the Arsenal beat £ity's reserves and think they are now world beaters. It's going to make the shock of bottling it (yet again) in the league even harder for the Gooners to bear, and provide us Spurs fans with another season of pure comedy gold, as the Gooners rip one another new arseholes on their hilarious board.

    The Emirates cup?

6 substitutes from 1 team I think deems it friendly enough.

Typical gooners, trying to pretend the Charity Shield means something. It's a friendly, always has been always will be. Embarrassing.
