One problem mate. He needs to drop the badges as they'll be cut off at the top. The bar that has 'New PostsPrivate MessagesFAQCalendarCommunity Forum Actions Quick Links' on it will slice the top of the badge off as it is. Blackcatsteve gives us the cut off depth on the other thread but it's 5 pages and I've just come online so I'm not looking for it now.
Personally, it's too bright for me, not that that matters it's what the majority think.

general mate, I always think these things should be predominantly red & white, we don't need the colour of the bridge etc, just have them as a casting.
Around the badges could just be red, this is just my opinion of course.

I get what you are saying...that bright yellow is hypnotic, you can't focus on owt else..
I'd tint the whole thing red myself. it will still keep all the colours but it will darken them off. It needs to blend in subtly not stand out and distract.

1: It has to be a min of 1800 pixels, but you cant please every res, some will miss the sides of the picture, others will see it all but with a blank space at either side, mick wont even think about putting it on if its any less than 1800.
2: You only have a tiny little window, if I can remember how to do it (its been 2 years+) I will show what it looks like on the forum, its Firefox, web developer tools, but from there I seriously can't remember, but a lot of your picture will be behind the white foreground and welcome to Sunderland will be covered by the new posts private messages white bar at the top, this is why its a pain in the arse to design a banner for here, as the window is that small.

Yeah, he'd need to drop the badges quite a bit and we'd lose most of Penshaw too, and tint it a bit darker(that's my personal opinion) as the yellow is quite full on.

I like the idea of both stadiums, both badges, a simplified version of that in predominantly red & white would be my choice.
Maybe even a non colour version with jut the 2 badges colured, I dunno.
