Lovely turn from Sturridge on half way. Nearly got Coutinho in, could have gone longer to Hendo who was unmarked but a more difficult ball, especially on his right foot.
 
Just don't feel like we are going to score everytime we get a free kick 25 yards out like I did with Suarez on the pitch last season.

Overall, decent half. 2 good goals, solid defensively with 2 new guys at the back.

Can has been very quiet though, not seen him do anything. Coutinho the star man so far though.

I know its only a friendly, but Manquillo looks good and Lovren looks like he could be what we lacked last season, someone at the back to organise and stop panic. Very cool on the ball and distributes well. Could be a CB in the mould of Hansen/Hyppia if he continues to improve.

Happy with that. Lots of promise, particularly from our forward three. Lovren is proving to be the signing I hoped he would be so far, solid defensively and attacks the ball in the air. Johnson, despite having a slightly better game than usually (he usually does at LB) needs to start just doing the simple things instead of always trying to flick the ball or quick foot step past someone first. That's where most of his ball losses come from. Sterling has helped him out alot defensively, maybe that's why he's LB so that he gets that support?

Also, anyone hear the commentator say that Sakho's distribution was awkward last season and that's why Lovren might be first pick ahead of him? <laugh>
Sakho may look awkward but I can't remember him giving it away and many of his passes went forward. Sakho and Lovren will be a great pairing
