Apologies if this point's already been made.. but our new GK coach was England's GK coach during the World Cup, no? I'm sure he's quite heavily involved in this whole transfer and probably personally recommended Forster.
Aberdeen looked okay but if Celtic only lose a couple of players I still think their side is better man for man.
No one! It's a woeful league. Aberdeen and Motherwell will be battling for 2nd, which will be more interesting. Everyone's more excited about Division One - Rangers, Hibs and Hearts are all fairly evenly matched. Most Celtic fans want to join the English Leagues, and the fans of pretty much all other clubs up here want them to leave too. Funny how a lot of these fans are also planning to vote Yes next month - imagine having an Irish club located in Scotland playing in England. Weird.
Celtic have a new manager half the players arent keen on. Have refused to spend money because its always been enough to win spl since loosing rangers and i think they still have enough to win that if players get on board with the new bosses ideas. He is more strict than Lennon was with them and it isnt going down well
I don't looking at them now. It will be a lot closer then last season. Yes Celtic will probably still win it, but this is as bad as I have seen them. My uncle supports them so I tend to watch a few scottish games.
How would that work? Celtic entering English leagues I mean. They'd be an awful lot of championship clubs who would probably be as good, if not better.
They'd have to start lower down and work their way up. It won't happen, but the fans are convinced they should be allowed to because of Cardiff and Swansea playing in the English leagues. That and their superiority complex. All the Celtic fans I know are convinced they're one of the biggest clubs in the world, just because they won the European Cup almost 50 years ago. Whenever I try to point out that the likes of Red Star Belgrade, Aston Villa, Steau Bucharest and Nottingham Forest (twice) have won it since then, they just patronise me about supporting a 'small, provincial club'. f** them.
Club size doesn't really work like that though does it? Celtic have an enormous fan base (albeit somewhat passive because they're in a backwater league) and are probably in the top 15-20 clubs worldwide in terms of shirt sales. If they were in the Premier League I genuinely think they could crack the Irish-American market and possibly, maybe even probably, become the biggest club in Britain.
