All good news, Rodwell is a step up from players like Gardner and Colback, he is also young so could have a decent sell on value. I like the fact were signing younger players with sell on value, its smart business.

We were all worried about Brown getting fit, last season showed Gus's team know how to keep a player fit who has had injury problems so I am confident Rodwell will start a lot of games.

Rumour going around twitter that Rodwell will not be the only one holding the scarf aloft today...

Id imagine a second Vergini loan?

Also one point, is the point of Borini not signing due to a current lack of signings we have made? With him wanting us to show that we are trying to push on by signing players like Rodwell?

Well you're not, so leave the worrying to me. This might happen yet.

If you were to get that squad in mate then you'd be safe at least

Cant imagine you's will be challenging for where you's were last season but think if you spend the money wisely over two seasons you can get the players in to get you back to it

Must admit though youve lost essentially the main part of your team

    You never know.

Must admit, SAFC seem to be shaping up nicely and apart from the tedious, never to be broken, stranglehold the top 5 have on the Prem it looks like it might be an interesting season ahead. Cheers.

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell is nearing a move to Sunderland. Only a medical stands in his way.

That's my concern and why I mentioned a few times last night.

A second medical suggests there's a little bit of graft to go in before we get excited!

I read City's Blue Moon forum and the Everton one last night, seems the City fans rate him and think it's a great move for us, and the Everton fans think he was actually ****.

Everton fans seem to hold some real bile towards people who leave like.

The fact that second is required imo shows something cropped up, rather than it being a case of double checking an injury prone player/

Never noticed that with Rooney :emoticon-0112-wonde

They have their fair share of ****ing idiots mind, Rooney's sale allowed them to transform from ****ty relegation scrappers into regular European competitors when Moyes spent the money wisely. They've got one more season before Barkley leaves for a bigger club so this is their best year to win something for ages, yet they'll spend their entire season concerning themselves with how overweight Rooney is and how Liverpool are doing **** without Suarez.

Yeah, Fellaini too, he was the devil for wanting to move to the biggest club in the country, and Moyes himself.

    People move onto bigger things!

Watched you lads last night mate and ****ing hell some of the quick one touch stuff was superb, van Gaal looks to have worked wonders.

I really do think if you signed Sneijder that'd be it, he's even got the defense which was 'suspect' last year looking rock solid.

Even 1 down, there was no change or panic players looked as if they KNEW they'd turn it, and so they did.

Yeah I was happy with that mate, didn't watch it live but watched it this morning when I got up.

Defenders weren't passing too well and we looked sloppy first half. We played better against RM but I'll take any win over the scousers.

Won't be as easy as that in the league mind, it was still a friendly. Looking forward to seeing Herrera linking up with RVP, Rooney, Mata and Adnan.

I would take Vermaelen and Vidal and be over the moon to start the season now, especially with Young playing so well. Can't see the Vidal one coming off though unfortunately.

Was amazed at Young on that tour, like a new player altogether.

Rooney looks hungry again as well, which despite peoples claims of him not being all that (bollocks) is massive for you, Herrera still looked a little rushed I thought but still retained possession well.

Was the play in behind that stood out, some lovely football from the middle down the channels, very, very van Gaal like!

Dunno mate. I`d rather think we`re just being cautious. Either that or they`ve given him such a thorough going over they`ve wrecked him and he needs another. <laugh>

But everyone knew his record before. What is a second medical going to show that the first didn't? I'd like to think they were thorough enough to just need the one.
