Those comments are in line with others I've seen. His main asset seems to be that "he knows where to pass and how to create space" as one said. Like Surman in that regard, but also in the lack of pace. If so, good positioning and good passing can make up for that. He's more of a CM who can also play WR than a 'utility' player, but I think he could be very good on the right of the diamond opposite Surman.

Note to Dave: "our best player's" (Catching the habit?) <whistle>

See, even those of us that are perfect make the odd mistake!

<whistle> <laugh>

Sunday people reporting a swap deal of Pilkington to Bolton in the exchange for Chung Yong Lee.

As it's the people there's probably about 0% truth in it.

If it was true though, what's people's thoughts on it?

not a bad player at all. quite similar to pilks - not sure i see the logic in bolton taking one of our injury-prone players in exchange for arguably their best though

Looks like it Supers. I wonder if RvW signing off will allow City to pursue another defender now. The midfield is well stocked now with O'Neil arriving on top of the addition of Surman and Elliot Bennett returning fit and Wes looking good at ACM, not to mention the two Murphys as options. If Hooper stays, City have three solid strikers plus Redmond who has played up front in the pre-season. There is also the loan option, of course.

Good old Allerdyce. One lanky beanpole gets crocked, so the obvious thing to do is try and replace him with another:

Daily Express: West Ham are lining up a £10m move for Stoke striker Peter Crouch

Thank christ I'm not a Wet Sham fan <yikes>

Christ, it gets even worse <doh>

To be fair, that's a much better purchase.

Wickham deservedly received some plaudits for his late-season form, he's young and he's not got a bad injury history (as far as I am aware - I don't pay a lot of attention). He also fits in with big Sam's style.

<laugh> sorry!

Well OK then, just do't let it happen again! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Seriously, the Pink'un has now picked up the Laurent Ciman rumour. I wonder if there is anything in it? Be a good signing, IMO, especially as he can play at either CB (his main position) or RB. They've also picked up on the rumour about "young Gambian striker Modou Barrow who is operating in Swedish football with Ostersunds", so they may just be repeating rumours. I'd be happy with either or both of these!
