This afternoon, whilst out on a walk, Lola pup was attacked by an offlead, and what looked to be a stray, dog. This dog took my girly by the throat and shook her so hard that nothing could be done to save her life, and my poor baby died.
Lola pup was a very special pup, having come from the worst of circumstances with the most untrusting nature I've ever known a dog to have...and I have the scars to prove it.
Lola pup's story is a long one, but a heartfelt one, and she gave me the biggest, proudest moments I've ever experienced with a dog! She was well known, and loved, with even her name being chosen by friends on here, Little Orphan Lots (of) Attitude!!
My proudest moment will always be the time my friend came out and met Lola Pup, and she was happily taking sausages from my friends hand, but then as soon as the sausages stopped, she snapped at her!! But then, a few months later, this same friend came over and told Samuel pup to stop jumping all over her giving the kisses, and I very proudly pointed out that it was Lola Pup!!! She couldn't believe the change in this girl. Gone was the scared, bitey pup, and in her place was a happy, wagging tail of a dog who loved everything and everyone, and enjoyed her life so much.
Lola pup made me smile every day, mainly because she always greeted me with a half assed attempt of jumping up my leg, but bless her she could never get as high as Samuel pup so she'd grab onto my knee to pick her up!! She accepted every dog that has come through the doors, her favourite being the little jrt puppies marley and lady who she played mum to for hours, and of course little Charlie who she would chase round for hours.
Above all, Lola pup's favourite things in the world had squeaks in them!! Anything squeaky it was hers. And no matter how big the others are, they knew better than to try steal them!!!! That, and any wrapper I had, Lola pup had to have straight after me!! No one else got a look in.
She was a cheeky little pup, and she was my cheeky little pup, and I'm absolutely broken and devastated that this has happened.
No one had the right to end such a happy little girls life, and no one had the right to take her from me.
I'm not at the point where I can say goodbye just yet, I just wanted this to be a little tribute to my girly, who was loved, and needed, and part of a massively family of people and dogs who loved and respected her, and I already miss my little Lola pup so much.
Thank you all so much for your support, I do appreciate it, but I just really can't cope with this just yet, I hope you understand and wish my girl well.
