Why assume they didn't tell him that they wanted him to stay? It's been reported around way prior to this that he was seen as a key man to keep.
Because if you're going to make a bold, definitive statement on national TV I think it'd probably make sense to make sure there wouldn't be a player meltdown first.

He can't, because Krueger finally made a definitive statement and we're stuck with him. Oh hilarious irony.
Did feel that he was the most deserving of a move, but it's not as if he is in white slavery. he is well paid and has been told he is too important to lose...an under the breath 'bugger' is sufficient. How dare he diss Saints by suggesting that staying here is something terrible.
I can't. I suspect he wasn't. Communication in the club, by all the evidence, is not that great, and Morgan's reaction seems like he just heard something unexpected, as if he was played. And that's remains the same even if he was told.
