DTLW thanks for the summary. At the minute we'll take anything that seems like good news. Without a doubt this is a watershed moment for Kruger et al. The statement on Morgan and Jay has now nailed themselves to the mast. If the desertions are now over, and we have some intelligent signings, this becomes a lot healthier. If not....
On the other hand, he did say they sold everyone who wanted to go, for a 'premium price'. What if Tottenham decides to pay the 'premium price' for Rodriguez and Schneiderlin (presumably they'll want to leave), will we then decline to sell them? I don't think so.
Do we know if Koeman rates them? Tbh, we should keep them whether he does or not. Clubs are just trying it on now. expect an offer from Portsmouth any moment.
he stated they would be here in September, didnt say anything about the end of January,...............
To be fair, considering we have about a dozen senior players left, we should rate every single one of them.
There is a bit of contradiction there. He said it was the right idea to sell those who wanted out (an attitude I'm all for), but then said Jay and Morgan aren't for sale, which completely goes against that philosophy. If they request a transfer, which statement will he go against?
You have to feel for Morgan, coming back late from the WC he has now missed the gravy train as we seemed to have put up the shutters.
Didn't Koeman have a situation at Feyernoord where he lost loads of players and still got top 3 with them?
Feyenoord almost went bust at the time of Koemen joining them, but over 2-3 seasons he rebuilt the team and they were second to Ajax.
With all the crap that has happened, would you sell to MP if you were stinking rich? I wouldn't. Sooner put JRod and Morgan down. Can take pragmatism too far.
if we can say NO to Morgan and Jay when another club comes a knocking, why couldn't we have said no to Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool?
