I can't see why Fer would wanna go to the saints. He will be the only player there at the start of the season at this rate. He better be good at playing in all positions. On a serious note, saints must be nailed on for relegation before the season even starts.
After last season I'm not saying any team is nailed on to go down lol. But they are in a poor position and will probably be favourites for the drop. Also I kind of find it ironic Southampton first game of the season is against Liverpool.
Gary O'Neil was in the stands this evening. Charlie Wyett also expects Fer to go to Qpr.. coincidence! Also St Etienne are looking at trying to sign RvW on loan.
I'm starting to get concerned now that we're going to have a nice, rounded looking squad torn apart late on in this window, leaving us unable to find suitable replacements before the window shuts.
Please no. QPR have not offered O'Neil a new contract, would hate to see us sign him or Karl Henry, an exchange deal strikes me as being awfully desperate, Adam's wants to keep Fer I just hope the board don't act like a bunch of tedious cheapskates when someone flashes more then five million.
Definitely. Good post - if Rodgers can achieve anything with this squad (by which I mean getting CL again as well as maintains cup campaigns) I will start to believe the hype about him - I'm oddly still unconvinced, for reasons I can't explain
I think all boils down to how they'll cope without that bitey little bastard this season? I think his goals won't be replaced by what he's bought so far .
Some positive words from NA on who is trying to keep - âThe likes of Leroy and Nathan (Redmond) and Gary (Hooper) know that I want them to stay. I have spoken to all of them and they know how I feel. We donât want to lose good players but we have to be realistic. Robert Snodgrass was another I didnât want to lose but the money was too good.â Read the full article here - http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...owson_to_miss_championship_kick_off_1_3704195
Naturally I just hope there are some decent (and attainable) replacements in mind if we do lose any of those three.
Gary O'Neil wouldn't be part of a exchange as he's out of contract. So wouldn't be part of any deal to take Fer to Qpr. O'Neil on a free isn't a bad signing for this level at all especially on a freebie.
I agree. O'Neil would provide depth at both CM and RM and would be good business on a Free (Boro paid £5m for him in 2007). Experienced in both the PL and Championship, he'd add another option to NA's various formations, including the right side of the diamond.
in all seriousness and in my humble opinion guys you probably have the player you need in midfield in surman, he was excellent last season with bournemouth, really did make them tick so if i were you look no further than him. defo leave alone O'Neill and Karl Henry.
having spoken to qpr fans they seem sorry to see o'neil go and have all been singing his praises. he's a quality championship midfielder. i see no down side to him joining on a free.
If Southampton can keep the rest of their players they still have a half decent squad! Boruc Clyne, Fonte, need a new CB, have a good young LB either McCarthy or Targett. Cork, Davis, Ward-Prowes, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Ramirez Rodriguez I know thats only 12 players but they are 12 very good players and they also have £100m to spend. Whilst its a crap situation, is not as gloomy as it might seem.
i can't see why some people have a problem with him. keeps the ball well, gets stuck in, experienced in the championship and premier league, free... ticks all the boxes for me
