Yeah I'm bitter towards all of them. Plus it'd be hilarious if we picked up a ****ton of money for players who were only made to look good because of a good manager.
I think there might be quite a reasonable element of this in play - certainly in terms of their ability vs respective fees.
Unless you have personally grown attached to a particular player - they are your childhood idol or something, for example - then for me, loyalty between a fan and a player ends when that player leaves. If fans then want to see those players crash and burn at their new clubs, that is fine by me. I for example want that for Pochettino. And for the same reason, I don't see why former player should stop themselves from celebrating when they score against a former team. Your loyalty is to your current team. You're just scored for them. Celebrate it.
Yes, I never quite get that either, but it has become something of a tradition these days. Some players make a habit of scoring against old clubs and practically dab their tearful sore eyes all the way back to the half-way line.
Everyone should be more like Adebayor because that was hilarious. Apologies for the horrendous quality.
Wow - will need a team of Houdinis to get out of those. Spot the odd one out: A. Fort Knox B. Alcatraz C. A Saints contract
It makes it worse that these deals have been agreed for so long, we have we not been more pro-active re incomings? Surely it would have been common sense to stagger the outgoings between some incomings?
Yeah but the board are naive and pretty incompetent. Pochettino will have known for months that he was off and yet the board didn't get working on a replacement until it was basically a done deal.
Exactly, Pochettino knew. He used us as a safety net...do you really think the board wouldn't have approached another manager if they knew we needed one. Their naivety was trusting someone who said repeatedly there was no hurry because he had a year on his contract.
I can't even find which thread is which any more ffs, they're all the same/similar. A big tidy up is needed I think. The forum should be split into positive and negative so depending on your mood you can decide which you want to spend your time on.
TSS suggested something along these lines yesterday and certain people took exception to it. You can't please everyone all the time, or indeed, any of the time.
I can't even decide where I stand any more. Angry about the players and with the players, but we have to believe that something good will happen or we will all go mad.
I was looking for a comment I left earlier and I spent an age looking through one thread because the same sort of thing was being discussed. There are three threads all talking about the same thing. Bit excessive, but as you said, everybody will never be happy
Bring back Adkins and Guly, that's what I say. I'm sure Nigel would have a poem or a song for this moment.
As false as that ritual of kissing the badge. I've always had quite an affinity to Saints players but after this I would be delighted if Saints fans made a pact never to sing about any of our players again.
