you could say that about a lot of players to be fair, are they really worth the silly fees paid for them, reason why i mentioned ozil was because (as you rightly said) if comparing them 2 players are you really get value for money.

i mean lallana, lovren, ozil, fellani, shaw, etc etc way way over valued (and every teams fan who have them players knows this really). mata is debatable. that one who went to real for £60 mill odd, really worth that sort of figure? makes barca look like they got a bargain with luis.

stupid prices quoted now days its mainly about the potential more than the actual skill, neymar looks like he does at least, and playing for barca will obviously help him to be over hyped, but he will be surrounded by quality players will help and looks quite good himself.

if we dont take a chance on these types, will we be looking at more Origi types, ie bargain but 3-4 years away from really having an impact.

Is he really so great? Or is he another Yaya (hugely over rated and just a good player but not 'immense'). For 42million quoted as his valuation, I'd be expecting a player like Viera or Gerrard in their pomp

I think he is around that level. Although I rate Yaya pretty highly too so we're going to disagree on this one.

I don't think he's settled and performed anywhere like he's capable of so far in the PL, so hard to judge yet. In the WC he was outshone by other 'lesser' or 'cheaper' German players. Thought he was excellent for Real though previously...

For me, Gerrard and Viera were two of the best midfielders I've seen in the PL. For 40+ million, I would hope for someone who would dominate a game like they did. I've not seen enough of Vidal to suggest he would be that kind of player. Hence I asked the question <ok>

You won't get much better than Vidal to be honest - he's been immense for Juventus. Not his fault he's Chilean as he'd make any international teams starting 11 easily - even the Germans.

He's way above the level of Ozil, Mata, Fabregas etc.

I also rate Yaya highly. He's a top shelf midfielder in my opinion.

Origi momentarily changed his twitter bio to 'Liverpool fc player'...

So that's that. Announced Monday probably.

Maybe he's awaiting the confirmation of the loan part to be agreed

Fairly certain that most for the past twenty years you have been buying players from teams below you, when you finish top or second you dont get much choice.
By your logic we can only buy from city or teams that won la liga or bundesliga

Agree fully with this, all teams buy from teams below them if they see a player who can improve them (we have bought one from Southampton too you know), but to buy four from the same team seems to indicate your manager thinks they played his system better than your existing players did last season.

No it doesn't, it suggests he thinks they played our system second best last season. We can't buy players from the team that did it best. We already own them.

Ozil does not belong in this list, he is far above the players you placed him with and is well worth the money. Mata`s price was about right, Suarez has a lot to prove over the next couple of seasons to justify his price, he is now at a top team with players who set a high standard every week, he could become a world class star or just as easily fade into obscurity.
