Agree with MITO, it's worrying how Southampton are quite happy with selling everyone for inflated prices but have signed just one playing in Tadic (correct me if wrong). The new manager needs to basically bring 6/7 new players to go straight in the first team, with a lot of the market already gone I can only see it turn to panic buying which isn't good at all. Southampton could get relegated this season, I hope they don't as I really like them but it doesn't look good. Also, who would think Wanyama would still be at Saints seeing as last season just about everyone wanted him?
Am guessing Saints will have a few lined up from the dutch league. Hope that whoever they get, that they gel quickly although having the core of the team ripped out like this is going to be hard to get over quickly! They've been a breath of fresh air and I'd rather them than any team managed by Pulis! So I'll be supporting them when not playing us
is there any dutch players in our league apart from vlaar?, who i think they are already targeting as replacement? for Lovren if he goes.
well i already knew about him lol, i meant realistic targets like Vaar etc, he is the only one i can think of off top of my head. they seem to be targeting dutch players(well looks like that at mo), make sense if they are already here and know the prem, if that's the route they want to go down. besides they couldn't afford his wages any way.
Yeah,I know Koeman should have excellent knowledge of up and coming dutch players. Its already been said by a few on here, but what is happening at Southampton is sick
By all the quotes etc. I can't see Shaqiri going anywhere this window - He'll end being the player we all want to get in but don't (like most transfer windows).
Liverpool could finally complete the signing of Lille striker Divock Origi today, according to L'Equipe. Origi has reportedly flown to the United States to have a medical before signing a five-year contract with Liverpool. The Belgium international, who has also been linked with Atletico Madrid, will then be loaned back to Lille for the coming season.
If rather they wait until last week of the window though. They way we've already played them With a theoretically weaker team
well if we somehow managed to get Shaqiri, be nice if we could send them ibe on loan(assuming they want or need) i know i said i would rather see ibe given a chance, but if we got shaqiri be even less opportunities for him than he will prob get already. good passing team suit the style, he has huge potential, and sort of make up for taking a few players, season in prem on loan see where he is at as regards to stepping up, i think he will personally (seen him for a couple of seasons now) but if he does well on loan we could end up with sterling and ibe on the wings with shaq and malkovic as well, would be great to see, and hopefully help the saints out in the progress.
well if we play 4-3-3 with 2 wide forwards yeah having that 3 would be good... but you'd wonder. ibe needs a loan no question
Manchester United and Liverpool have been handed a deadline by Juventus if they are to move for Arturo Vidal. According to reports in Italy, the Old Lady have told prospective suitors they will only entertain offers up until August 2 - the day before the players depart for their pre-season tour of Asia. Vidal has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer, with Liverpool also reportedly showing interest. But despite the Chilean international repeatedly stating he is unsure where his future lies, no official offer has yet been made. And now Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims Juve have told United and co. next Saturday is the cut-off date for a deal to go through. Louis van Gaal is said to be ready to offer £39m for the midfielder, but reports suggest Liverpool are willing to hijack United's move with a £42.5m bid. Source: Metro --------------- **** source but what do we make of this? i have seen already he has allegedly said he isnt entertaining the idea of joining utd,but is he seriously off? why would we offer the club more money, as it is still down to where the player wants to go! its bollocks really isnt it lol, but **** all else to discuss at the mo.
Just worked out the real reason Suarez wanted to leave. Wouldn't be able to get his customary hatrick against Norwich since they're relegation.
Well he's one of the best midfielders in world football. We just got 75mil for Suarez (I believe they're the same age). So yeah why not, he'd be an immense signing, and could push us one step further next season. Put it this way I'd be happy to see some leaning pictures, until then it's all hot air. But I did read a quote saying he 'won't be going to Utd', and Real madrid don't want/need/afford him as they bought James. So If he does move on we're probably in pole position - although I expect him to stay at Juve.
I hear so much about Vidal but he really hasn't impressed on the few occasions I've seen him - not including the world cup where Chile were always going to find it tough beyond the group stages. Is he really so great? Or is he another Yaya (hugely over rated and just a good player but not 'immense'). For 42million quoted as his valuation, I'd be expecting a player like Viera or Gerrard in their pomp
He would he better than Mata and Ozil who also went for about £40m Way better than the £30m range midfielders like Herrera, Fellaini
I don't think he's settled and performed anywhere like he's capable of so far in the PL, so hard to judge yet. In the WC he was outshone by other 'lesser' or 'cheaper' German players. Thought he was excellent for Real though previously... For me, Gerrard and Viera were two of the best midfielders I've seen in the PL. For 40+ million, I would hope for someone who would dominate a game like they did. I've not seen enough of Vidal to suggest he would be that kind of player. Hence I asked the question
