Mr. Koeman seemed pretty chipper in his post match interview last night. Transfers do take time and patients is not a quality often associated with the collective football fan. For example we've known Lovren is going to Liverpool for weeks and we've known how much yet it's still not official. The club needs players this week and ideally it will be a centre half and possibly a left back as they're the pressing 1st team concerns. Any other signings we can afford a little bedding in time.
Imagine in the future when we have so many ex-players out there, there will be sell on clause money coming in every window....kerching (if any club can make a profit at the prices we charge).
Sweet Jesus... The "Pro Smile No Matter What" Propaganda machine whirrs into motion on another board. Let's talk realism. (1) You have been gutted for your best players, (2) and don't seem to be replacing most of them. You support a football team, not the financial accounts of the owner, and thus considering points 1+2, I'd hardly be as "positive" as some of the posters on here. But we are fans (fanatics), so what reasonable/coherent logic can we expect to spew forth? Trust me guys, from a supporter of a team going down the same exact path, just a couple of stops ahead, you're going to feel angry, disappointed, frustrated, disenfranchised and utterly ignored, and you're still going to deludedly keep a "positive" outlook, until you get to our stage, where you reach the low of bipolar pariah, never know ing whether you'll be swinging from the extreme of symphonic optimism, to rocking back and forth in a darkened room whilst singing Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" on repeat and weeping simultaneously. Obviously, you'll close ranks against the slightly odd Newcastle fan and arrogantly deny your club is doing the same thing, but I suspect I'll see you the hospital when we all get sectioned.
Ever thought of writing a novel? I applaud you. Let's hope our train derails or changes course before we reach your station
Great post, couldn't agree more. I'm so angry at the club. There's a reason I'm an atheist and that's because I struggle with blind faith. I'm not blindly trusting the board until they prove their worth. Which admittedly could be this week
So anyone who disagrees with you is arrogant? There is no propaganda as supporters who are taking a more positive angle on the situation have nothing to gain from being positive. It's just an opinion on our football club at the present moment
What happens, will happen....the only difference between optimists and pessimists is the length of their misery.
I'm afraid I lost my computer privileges when I started those fires, and I suspect they'll probably restrict me for the foreseeable future when they discover I harpooned my nurse so I could write that post I do hope something changes at Southampton though. Bitterly disappointed as a neutral observer to see a team I genuinely saw as future title contenders, be disassembled like an X-rated version of Short Circuit. Thankfully, a big difference between us, and most likely our respective futures, is that Southampton has the proverbial conveyor belt of talent, and we tend to use local rivals as expensive feeder clubs.
Well that depends on whether you see arrogant as an insult. Apparently it is these days, because if I mention arrogant there's a 25 page associative glossary of terms that I definitely haven't implied. To ignore or deride an opinion from someone that's experienced a very similar situation would, undeniably, be arrogant. Whether that's good or bad arrogance is only effected with hindsight.
Well each to their own! I'm not one for copious 0's, that's why I support a team with a horrific defence.
Why would gnabry come here on a permanent deal? He is very highly thought of at Arsenal, so not like he is a player they would be looking to lose. If a player is involved I'd imagine it's much more likely to be Jenkinson
Your board of one sells players for peanuts and hires crap nobody managers on 8 year contracts. Our board are selling players at vastly inflated prices and hires big name managers on normal length contracts. I see no similarity at all. Back to your board please.
Surprised to hear Koeman's thoughts after the Bournemouth game when he says that at left-back we need two good players. This is exactly the situation we had at right-back, so selling Chambers doesn't make sense to me. Personally I wanted to see Chambers and Clyne playing together down that right-hand side, think that could have worked out well. Do we have any young right-backs coming through who might be near ready?
Pardon me? You don't have anymore right to post on Southampton related topics than anybody else. You want a single team forum Sells players for peanuts? Andy Carroll at £35 million (to Liverpool, who seem to have inherent interest is signing all your players, as they did with us a couple of years ago. See the signing of Enrique and bids for several other first team players) Cabaye at around £25 million seem to piss in your face on that one. This is why you should stay on a multi-board forum, because there'll be someone from another board who comes and challenges your ignorant and erroneous views which have absolutely no basis in fact. http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-art...ansfer-finances-in-and-out-under-mike-ashley/ We've made profits on nearly every player sold during Mike Ashley's tenure. And so what? As I say, I support the team, not the owner's financial accounts, but I applaud your own fervor for profit margins.
