Totally agree, and if J Rod was fit he would have either gone or be packing his bags now. Unless we make a couple of big signings quickly, others are going to want to jump ship also, but trouble is with everyone leaving who is going to want to join us? Just hoping no one comes in with a bid for Clyne, Big Vic or Davis.
Let's face it - it obviously is. Morgan has been very quiet the last couple of weeks in the past he has always very vocal about his opinions. I would bet my house on him being gone by the Liverpool game.
He's the one I'd least like us to lose but when Ron takes us to a top 4 finish we will all feel very silly..
This is my view now: Ron: "Morgan, we want you to stay; are you wanting to stay?" Plan A Morgan: "yes, I love it here so I stay" Ron: "great thanks, lets kick arse" Plan B Morgan: "Er I think I want CL football..." Ron: "ok, thanks, tell your agent £25m or you stay. Tell him to get it done by Friday" No point in having to fanny about anymore. We are Southampton and we are on a new era.
Morgan has been here quite a while...in the normal scheme of things, I would understand him leaving. It's about the right time for him. The trouble is that he is the last one back from the World Cup and players who should have stayed (Lallana for loyalty, Shaw, Lovren, and Chambers because they owe us) have left. It would be a wondrous thing if he stayed, but I don't intend to be angry with him because of the unfortunate timing.
Morgan has been a fantastic servant to the club. Whatever happens he will remain a Saints legend both for his conduct (so far) during this crisis and for his contribution over the years on the pitch.
Really want him to stay but he may feel his only chance of becoming a regular for France he needs CL now.
Kreuger's statement may be the first he knew about it. He was the last one standing when the door slammed shut. Would like a nice little interview with Morgan now...not expecting it though.
I don't think we should get too carried away yet, but it's certainly a step in the right direction. 6 or so new players in, and Schneiderlin starting against Liverpool would make me extremely happy. However Kreuger isn't renowned for telling us the whole truth and I still think we should be cautious with that bit of news.
