No place for Lennon?
errr, i might have managed to forget him *Fans tend to forget or write off Lennon but he always finds a way to remain a managers favourite through his work ethic and being a team player, plus he is ideal for the high pressing game.
It's the writing off of Townsend that gets me - in the two England games he played early last season he was the best player on either side by a country mile. His potential is awesome.
Townsend could be someone that has a season when everything goes his way, similar to say someone like David Bentley at Blackburn, who looked awesome for a brief period but I just don't see Townsend as a player who will have any sort of consistency to his game as he likes to dribble with the ball, shoot on sight and be direct. Thats fine if you are scoring goals but otherwise he is no better then Jose Dominguez. Plus he is a terrible team player and is solely interested in his own game.
He was elevated into this superstar last season which said a lot about how desperate this country is. Compare him to someone like Sterling who would have a better claim to be being viewed as having awesome potential.
He played very well for QPR for a whole season, was absolutely brilliant at the start of last season (which went to his head a bit I think) and then got badly injured. Sterling is much more likely to be a one season wonder IMHO

Youve still got falque in mate.
? In the opening post. Can't see him, or did you post this before I changed it?
Both sets of stats are damning, but it shows in particular how much less Lennon
was going on runs last season.
The part that gets me is that Townsend has 4.15 shots and a goal conversion % of 0, while Lennon has 0 shots but a goal conversion % of 4.5.
How did he get the ball in the net, using the Jedi mind trick???
