@solentsport: Our colleagues at @BBCSportScot report that Celtic have rejected a bid from #SaintsFC for goalkeeper @FraserForster. Not close to £7.5m tho.

I don't see £9m as too expensive for a keeper like him. Keepers are worth investing in, as they can literally save a lot of points. He's still very young for a keeper, but has shown so much promise already. Would be a sensible and very good signing I think.

Just because we are loaded atm we shouldnt let clubs try it on. That said I'd be happy if we paid a bit more for Fraser.

I wouldn't say £9m is trying it on too much at all really. He's 26 (very young for keeper), has a big presence and all the attributes a keeper needs, and he is an England international (doesn't mean much, but they do have a premium).

He's worth that imo. Keepers also tend to hang around, and not get poached as much. He's going to need convincing to leave Champions League football behind, despite him getting English Permiership football in return. This is a real circle of life - Liverpool fund us, we fund Celtic.

Totally off topic, hotbovril, but taking my 5 year old to the commonwealth games tomorrow. We have tickets for the triathlons in Strathclyde country park and velodrome by parkhead. We are staying at Red deer holiday village, but I'm not sure how best to get to the venues. Any advice? (sorry for totally irrelevant post btw)
