Saints only beat Swindon 1-0 with a pretty strong side and we stretched ours squad over 2 games.
Hardly, it was just a fitness exercise for us, it wasn't competitive and we played with half a first team. If SB was bothered about the result he wouldn't have waited 81 mins to bring on a sub.
It's a common misconception in football that big teams are supposed to batter little ones, but they see it as a way to upset their opponents whereas we see it as a training exercise.
1-1 at ferriby....And the doom and gloom merchants are out in force...FFS....I saw City lose 3-2 at Winterton, the season we got promoted...Behave...
I was at Harrogate, nothing special to report the shoreline didn't flatter us. The CJM goal was good but other that he was disappointing, got a lot of the ball but never attempted to beat a man, just ran up to them, or sideways, then passed the ball.
I was at Ferriby, thought TommyTiger is being harsh on Aluko to be honest, he played a lovely ball to Long for him to win the penalty and almost scored himself early on.
Townsend looked good after a nervy start, and Ince always looked dangerous, though he missed two one on one's.
Their penalty was outside the area and the goal wasn't over the line but a draw was probably fair.

Have to agree with TommyTiger as I thought Aluko was the worst player on the pitch from either team
I am glad that i went to see a game at Harrogate tonight, rather than going to a game at Ferriby to be SEEN at. Too many hypocrites in the 'targer nation' these days. Cracking game and finish from CJM, as well as the best announcer in any ground anywhere in more than 50 years watching a team of whom I used to be a fan!
Huh! You watched a different game to me! He, Meyler, Elmo and Boyd played very well in a game which I guess was no more than an exercise in achieving match fitness. Stick to watching chequers........
I have absolutely no idea what this statement means. I can guess, so here goes. Looking at the two line ups, the new signings were all playing at Ferriby along with the youth that are most likely to feature in the first team at some point this season, so all the 'Premier League' fans went to that game to see the new signings in action.
Except that the game was all ticket and we didn't find out which teams had gone where until a couple of hours before the game. It was probably just down to geographical location
I don't know what your stance is supposed to represent; are you supposed to feel vindicated by the fact that you went to watch City's second string trounce some non league side as a stronger side could only draw? Is it because you didn't want to see a PL team grace the Eon Visual Media stadium? Or is it simply because you like to be different?
I simply can't believe that somebody would stop supporting their own team for any reason, let alone because they play in the top division, where all footballers strive to play. If you're a true City fan, then you swallow what you don't like and support them through thick and thin. I imagine not many of our younger fans would enjoy it if we dropped down to League 1 in the future, but I'd say the exact same thing to them. You can't pick and choose when to support your club. For many people, it's a massive deal.
If you can't afford a season pass, fair enough, not everybody can, but how is that James Chester's fault? Or Sone Aluko's? All they did was play football well and get us promoted, how can you hold that against them? If your vendetta is against the PL, then file it a different way, enjoy watching City upset the bigger clubs, enjoy watching Liverpool fans slumping out of the stadium on 60 mins, enjoy the media asking who we think we are winning against their precious London clubs.
Stop fannying about at Ferriby and come and join the party. It's fun. It just got continental.
I have to admit this is a rather confusing thing. I myself was choosing between Harrogate and Ferriby but because I finished work at 5:30 and Ferriby was closer I went there. Little to my surprise there were 2,200 attending as it's normally a well attended game but I wouldn't say its the game to be seen at. Jesus stop being a football hipster
Didn't Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all struggle against non league clubs just the other day? FFS.
Fair enough you would think they should win the game but it is not a big issue at all.
- First game in a long time for most of them.
- Most aren't going to have the motivation to run them selves ragged and risk injury in their first game back. This was about fitness, team cohesion and first touch.
