Finally in Boston for the American @LFC Tour!

Surely that rules it out? If we've had a bid accepted and he's gone on tour that makes him look pretty disinterested to me.

If he wanted the move would he not have been up here after the game last night to negotiate. Left the continent instead.

Snubbed for me.

Brendon took Adam, Big Lass and Downing on tour and sold them while out there. It's a strange yet common practice for him for some reason.

The club are coming out of this well imo.

Presumably Borini will want to know who else will be coming in and what the club's plans are.

Another relegation battle won't do his international prospects much good.

We wouldn't have wasted time & effort negotiating with Liverpool if the player hadn't indicated he was interested.

Well that's full of **** considering he's in the USA and Gus is in England.

I really hope Liverpool aren't having to give him a nudge to come here. For 14m, I only want players who are chomping at the bit to come and play for Sunderland. Nobody knows what's happening behind the scenes and he may want to come but might be the ultimate professional and doing what Liverpool say as he's still their player. I hope that's the case but I've got my doubts.

Why? He's only ever been the up most professional, Bendon wanted him on the plane and he's done as he's told. Big Lass even got on the plane when he was due to transfer and he doesn't exactly have the best track record for professional behaviour.

Haven't the foggiest idea what's going on. We're guessing just as much as the press <laugh>

Just a feeling I've got mate, don't think anybody can be certain either way anymore. Also the fact that all last season he never mentioned about wanting to stay with us, he was always talking about wanting to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place.

How do they negotiate? It's an utterly stupid practice. Makes them look disinterested. I think I'd want to be present as my agent negotiates my future.

This bizarre way of doing business is the only thing that's giving me hope, that and Borini's lass stating they're homeless with no idea where they're going to be, so they've clearly not taken a tenancy on a house yet.

Not specifically though 83 - all of his quotes were "I have no future plans after this season, I am still a liverpool player and will return to Liverpool and fight for my place" - no mention of what he "Wants" just what he is contractually obliged to do.

If he's behind Rickie Lambert in the pecking order, I'd assume he wants to leave - I wouldn't swap Lambert for any of our attacking options (Including Fletcher and Jozy!)

My take on this is, as has been said, Rodgers likes to take players on tour regardless of whether they are being sold, as he has done this before. Chances are we have representatives in America discussing things with Borini and people capable of completing the medical also. It may happen, it may not, I hope it does but if not we move on. One thing I will be amazed at is if it doesn't happen simply because he's out on a pre-season tour. At least this way we get a fit Borini instead of one hanging around at home for a few weeks to wait and see if the transfer happens.

I reckon a lot of the reason for his non-commitment during last season was our high relegation risk and the fact that we gave no indication that we were interested in buying him or could afford him (due to our relegation issue).

I'm sure he'd love to go to an Italian CL/UEFA cup team (and I couldn't blame him), but they may not have the funds or have him as a priority. I also can't see a Top 8 EPL team coming in to guzump us at 14 million.

The big question is how much time will both him and us allow before either: he says 'fuc* it, why not' and signs for us, or we pull the pin and spend the money elsewhere.

I'm very happy with the fact that we've opened up 14 million to sign someone :)
