Sky Sports saying we're one of a number of clubs interested in Cedric Bakambu

For those too lazy to open the link:
A number of Premier League clubs are understood to be lining up moves for Sochaux star Cedric Bakambu, after Standard Liege had a bid rejected for him.
The 23-year-old former French Under-21 international has been targeted by Standard, but they have seen a £1.5million bid rejected by Sochaux.
Newcastle and Crystal Palace both showed an interest in Bakambu last season, and they are understood to be amongst half-a-dozen English clubs taking a close look at him.
Bakambu, who has two years left on his current deal, has scored 18 goals in his last two seasons in Ligue 1 - but he is now eager to move on after Sochaux were relegated last season.
Thoughts?
He seems to me to not quite be what we want, which is a first choice, 15-20 goals a season striker, but may be good as another option up front. Price tag probably won't be too high, but with that much competition his wage demands would increase, but again probably not too high.
