No, he's very probably not good enough. He's had two poor seasons in the Championship so I can't imagine he'll suddenly have a huge turnaround aged 28 and become a Premier League player.

 

He is a long way from even being a squad player at this level, sadly.

 

He did really well in the preseason before our first PL season and got let go, he needs to be pretty special in preseason to be given a chance. I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench with Pelle up front and Ings starting out wide though, he'd be no worse than our impact players last year, but we may want to let Gallagher have a pathway to the first team.

I have always liked Billy, but I don't think anyone is deluded enough to think he will make it in the Premier, but I don't think he deserves the nonsense being bashed out on twitter, there is almost open warfare going on and it's totally futile.

 

Getting a little annoyed with how people are dismissing him already. The guy may have seen his best days in the lower leagues, and struggled out and loan, but why dismiss him so early. I'd keep him, he's a poacher and if he grabbed us 2 or 3 goals off the bench it would be a success in my eyes. He is no worse than Le fondre etc who managed to score in the prem.

 

All joking aside its good to see Ron giving everyone a chance to impress.

 

In what way is he being dismissed early? He's been at the club, what, 3 1/2 seasons. How long do you need to notice that he's not going to improve the side in the premier league by being a nice bloke....?

Should we persist with Jos in defence in the hope he becomes Nesta. After all, he's a nice bloke too.
