I'm hoping the penny dropped, with these players, that Poyet is a good manager to work for.

If he can get those performances from Cattermole, Wickham, Seb etc then we can only hope it's permanent.

It was a big moment for me when Mannone signed a new contract, I think Wickham will do the same.

Wages and interest on overdrafts? Ex manager(and staff)/dof(and scouting team) pay offs, academy costs, overseas club partnerships, investment in the new infrastructure? I'm hoping the the new tv money has pushed us to running in the black.

Definitely. I want him here, he's strong, powerful, quick, got a decent finish. But buying a 15k bottle of champaign to share with ****ing waiters makes me uneasy about the lads character. I think he may already be an 'Iced up' rolex kind of guy and is looking for a payday.

If he plays well he'll get his pay day either way. I'd sooner take the season of goals from him whilst he's trying to get himself a payday, then end up with a tribunal payout fee, than sell him for £4m now in the last year of his contract. If he doesn't score the goals, he'll end up at Sheff Wed again, who won't pay him ****.

We'd easily see £4million at ribunal anyway, so on that score no brainer.

Exactly, so unless somebody comes in with a silly fee then for once, it looks like the player in the last year of his contract doesn't hold all of the cards. **** him, make him earn it.

If his temperament wasn't suspect there would be better clubs than Villa sniffing around.

I don't believe he has any intention of leaving.

I'd be dreading this season as a Villa fan mate, bleak isn't the word for their outlook. Would you buy a season ticket knowing what's potentially in store?

Exactly, bet he thinks it's him who holds all cards. Let play **** this year, he'll get a **** move, play well we may loose him but it will pump the compo right up. We can stand up to this player. Great opportunity to change our ways.

Probably mate, that combined with only a short spell of form to his name.

I hope so Smug. It`s just that I don`t like the idea of being held to ransom by someone who has yet to prove (to me anyway) that it wasn`t just a flash in the pan.

Even more so though mate, if he bangs them in trying to get a 'big club' to notice him it's worth much more to you than £4m would be in any circumstances, regardless of the compensation. No lose really innit?

It looks grim and the 'manager in waiting' situation makes it worse.

He kept us up anyway so he's paid for himself, regardless.

Let's play this one right, no ransoms, no panicking.

    It's a funny situation mate.

Did Mannone receive a pay rise he was happy with, I'd expect he did ......... was that 'holding us to ransom', I don't believe so.

Is Wickham trying to get what he believes a Premier League striker is worth?

Poyet has said he's important to the club and expects to be playing him in the first team.

What does that make him worth?

Keane looks like the thick-skinned, designated face of Aston Villa for when the **** hits the fan, he won't give a **** about the media, he'll tell them to get ****ed in return for a nice pay cheque.

It's just a real puzzle to me mate.

How can Villa afford to pay for someone who's only there as a mouthpiece?

Whatever he says to the media everyone will believe what they want to believe.

He embarrassed me at times, when he was speaking for us, and I think people will soon tire of him.

He's not the best 'media personality' is he? Certainly doesn't replicate his pitch form on the mic!

Villa went from well run club to absolute shambles over night, the fact that they're probably paying Darren Bent £100k a week tells me the Keane money won't be an issue to their want away owner.

The silence is deafening as well, who's going to be interested in a club void of ambition? He's gonna struggle to shift that white elephant off his books is Randy.

Villa Park is a ****ing dive as well, I get that historically it was special, and all that ****e, but no, poor views and facilities, not bad for access but not great, someone is gonna think 'new stadium at some point ££££££'.

It's just a dull, dour club Villa, has been for many a long year, it's almost like the club is in depression, I don't see it changing much.

And their supporters are bellends to a man, even the stewards are bellends.

I humiliated one of their head stewards at the 0-0 last season.

He asked me what it was like to see a crowd and I ****ing destroyed him ........ even his colleagues were sniggering at him.
