Avoid Nick Helm? I liked him in Uncle, is his stand up not worth it then?

Yeah I'm having the Mogwai TDCC debate myself, leaning towards TDCC since I've seen neither before.

I've seen him a few times when I accidentally leave BBC3 on for too long. It's... really terrible. This seems quite an appropriate one to share at the moment.

TTSF - on the comedy front, make an effort to see Pyjama Men

Music (other than headliners) - Goat, War On Drugs, East India Youth, Fat White Family

Luke Sital-Singh is good if you like the singer/songwriter type lark. Future Islands are worth seeing live (although that's possibly one of the obvious ones).

Yeah Nick Helm is ****. I have seen him live and he usually tries to do some **** comedy songs for most of his act.

You're man no.10000 to recommend East India Youth, so I'll definitely be seeing them!

I'm going to Latitude festival in a few days, apart from the obvious headliners and subheadliners would anyone recommend any bands in particular?
Very intrigued by the who is William Onyeabor set, especially with the special guests. Would be something a bit different. Here's a promo:

Everyone's said the notable stuff (War on Drugs would be my #1). Only thing to add would be Julia Holter, she's pretty magical.

I'm so out of touch with music these days. At least I knew Fable before it was cool.

Keep an eye out on that over the next few weeks, with a fair stroke of luck there should be some interesting movement (plus we're putting the next song out there at the beginning of August).

How bad is this <laugh>

I've been listening to this really cool band called Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think they might be going places.

I will be! I'm sure I'll see it go down on Twitter.

That's pretty underground. I was excited to see this little outfit called Radiohead are recording another album, maybe this'll finally be the one to get them the recognition they deserve.

A couple of decades ago, a competition ran (Budweiser I think) where the prize was to see the chili peppers play a gig on an ice breaker inside the Arctic circle. My first thought without a hint of irony was how ****ing cool would that be. I would have given somebody's right arm to have been on that ship

Don't know whether anyone is bothered, because Tories are all bad of course, but Cameron is having a Cabinet reshuffle this morning. Ken Clarke is leaving the cabinet, William Hague has stood down as Foreign Secretary and will leave Parliament at next year's election, and Gove has been kicked out of Education.

More women expected to be appointed, as the Tories want to be more representative of the country rather than an elitist bunch of Eton schoolboys. We'll see.
