Setting a good example for Dan here by drinking on a school night. It can be done!
Keeping my dream alive man. I'm drinking for the third consecutive weeknight despite no football because my life is a mess.
Three nights in a row? Sounds more like a success to me. I should manage a four day streak because tomorrow I'm apparently going out with Mad Albanian, the Greek and the German for sushi and drinks. Then Saturday night drinks with my actual friends, then Sunday obviously the final at the pub. Showing up a couple of hours early to get good seats then it's burger, beer, beer, beer, recurring.
Monday might be hell but it'll be worth it.
Ah I can do it without having to get up in the morning. I appreciate how you imply your gang of Europeans don't count as actual friends, I can only hope I stumble into crazy social situations like that. Sounds like you've got a great few days on. I need to actually make plans for the final, though sitting on the sofa drinking for hours into the buildup with my brother hasn't failed me so far this tournament.
The gang of Europeans is just like some sort of hilarious experiment. Like this girl approaches me at a bus stop and obviously then I think she's mad. But because a work day doesn't tend to have a lot of interesting events I'm thinking let's just try and make an adventure out of every opportunity. So yeah these people are nice but I wouldn't say I know them well. We mostly just see each other on the bus. They stick together because they're new in the country and they're all in the same boat, wanting to meet people and see the sights and whatnot. I already know people and have seen the sights. Just saying yes to every invitation from them in the hopes of an adventure.
If you want to stumble into crazy situations, just approach every day like that. Say yes to everything. At the very least it's not boring.
I'm definitely going to keep that in mind. Crazy adventures sound fun. You do sound like their adopted pet englishman though.
I can dig it. I get a lot of "how do you live with this weather?!" and "what places do you recommend in London?" and "what is the English word for [German noun]?"
grown men begging footballers on twitter to join their respective teams is slightly pathetic isn't it
Positive news in the graduate job hunt today. A company is pitching their position to me and asked if I'm interested. No job offer/interview yet, but it's the most positive piece of news I've had![]()
